Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for UE-assisted tethering report. In one novel aspect, UE-assisted tethering report is generated with UE-assisted procedure based on latency measurement configuration. In one embodiment, the UE-assisted tethering report includes one or more elements comprising one bit to inform the activation of tethering mode, latency of packet transmission, and other side-information related to tethering path. In one embodiment, the UE-assisted procedure is inserting a measurement timestamp or recording timing of a predefined transport block (TB) of the packet. In another novel aspect, the UE performs a jitter measurement for an extended reality (XR) traffic, sends a UE-assisted information report for an end-to-end path of the XR traffic based on the jitter measurements, wherein the UE-assisted information includes one or more elements comprising jitter information and burst arrival time.

Abstract: LWA (LTE/WLAN Aggregation) is a tight integration at radio level which allows for real-time channel and load aware radio resource management across WLAN and LTE to provide significant user perceived throughput (UPT) improvement. When enabling LWA, packets are routed to a base station (eNB) for performing PDCP functionalities as an LTE PDU. Afterwards, the eNB can dispatch the PDU either delivered over LTE link or WLAN link. The UPT improvement depends on how the eNB dispatches the PDU over LTE link or WLAN link. In one novel aspect, the eNB can acquire channel information, load information, and throughput estimation regarding with WLAN link and LTE link. As a result, the eNB can optimize UPT and LWA PDU dispatching algorithm.

In certain configurations, the UE establishes a connection supporting an extended reality (XR) application service with a base station. Abstract: Mechanism of relay UE discovery and relay UE selection and reselection for remote UE data transmission with a serving base station via relay UE is proposed. A method operable for relay UE selection and reselection of remote UE is provided. The UE considers additional criteria such as relay load other than purely radio signal quality (e.g., RSRP) criteria. The relay load can serve different purpose for relay UE and remote UE. The relay load can be the criteria for UE to become a relay UE or not. It can be the criteria for a remote UE to select another UE as its relay UE.

Abstract: A method of UE prioritizing and multiplexing simultaneous sidelink relay data for Logical Channel Prioritization (LCP) procedure in new radio (NR) system is proposed. UE can provide traffic prioritization based on traffic category when UE has simultaneous traffic from more than one traffic categories to transmit. The sidelink relay traffic prioritization is then used for transmission interface and resource selection, and data multiplexing prioritization on the basis of sidelink relay architecture. Specifically, a method on how to perform the corresponding logical channel prioritization (LCP) operation for MAC PDU multiplexing is provided. LCP restriction is considered to determine which classes of traffic can be multiplexed into the same MAC PDU together. Priority of multiplexing is also applied to determine the order and the amount of traffic to be included in the MAC PDU.

Abstract: A tagging mechanism supporting different QoS categories for IP/Port services in a cellular radio network is proposed. Tags are used to differentiate different types of services and corresponding QoS requirements. At the sender side, the sender of the IP packets is able to distinguish different types of services by tagging one or multiple bits for finer QoS control. For downlink IP traffic, the tagging function can be done at the base station. For uplink IP traffic, the tagging function can be done at the UE. At the receiver side, the receiver delivers the IP packets using out-of-sequence delivery for delay sensitive packets. With tagging and out-of-sequence delivery, the delay sensitive packets can reduce CN latency and transmission latency.
