摘要: The present invention is directed to a braking stroke simulator for use in a brake system, which comprises a simulator piston moved in response to operation of a manually operated braking member, and an elastic element for providing a stroke to the simulator piston in response to braking operation force applied to the manually operated braking member, wherein restoring amount of the elastic element is restricted to set an initial load to be applied thereto. The elastic element includes a first elastic member made of rubber, and a second elastic member made of a helical spring, which is disposed in series with the first elastic member. The initial load applied to the first elastic member and the initial load applied to the second elastic member are set to be substantially equal to each other.

摘要: In a liquid pump for a braking system of a vehicle, one end of a piston is slidably inserted into a cylindrical space of a housing member, and a sliding ring is provided on the piston. A suction chamber is formed by an inner peripheral surface of the housing member, an outer peripheral surface of the piston and the sliding ring. An inner diameter “Dk” of the housing member is made larger than an inner diameter “Dc” of the cylindrical space. As a result, the volume of the suction chamber is increased, without making the piston smaller in its diameter.

摘要: A pressure generating apparatus includes a first piston moved in response to operation of a brake pedal, an elastic member for providing a stroke of the first piston in response to braking operation force of the brake pedal, a second piston accommodated in a housing for defining a master chamber in front of it and a simulator chamber behind it, and an atmospheric pressure reservoir for storing brake fluid. A changeover device is provided for selectively communicating the simulator chamber with the reservoir, or blocking the communication between them. And, a stroke restriction device is provided for restricting a maximal stroke of the first piston relative to the housing to be smaller than the sum of a maximal stroke of the second piston relative to the housing and a maximal stroke of the first piston relative to the second piston.

摘要: A pressure generating apparatus includes a master cylinder, a stroke simulator and a communication control device, which includes a seal member disposed in a cylinder housing, and a communication passage formed on a part of outer periphery of a second master piston. When the second master piston is placed in the initial position thereof, a first master chamber is communicated with the stroke simulator through the communication passage. When the second master piston is advanced from the initial position by the predetermined distance or more, the communication passage is separated from the first master chamber by the seal member, to block the communication between the first master chamber and the stroke simulator.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a hydraulic brake apparatus provided with a pressure source for generating hydraulic pressure, a hydraulic pressure boosting device having a pressure regulating valve for regulating the hydraulic pressure generated by the pressure source in response to braking operation by a vehicle driver, a master cylinder for advancing a master piston by the hydraulic pressure discharged from the hydraulic pressure boosting device, and a wheel brake cylinder operatively mounted on each wheel of the vehicle. A pressure supply device is provided for supplying the hydraulic pressure from the pressure regulating valve into a hydraulic pressure circuit including the master cylinder and the wheel brake cylinder, when the hydraulic braking pressure discharged from the master cylinder is equal to or greater than a predetermined starting reference pressure, which is set to be equal to or greater than a hydraulic pressure corresponding to a predetermined vehicle deceleration, and/or when the hydraulic pressure discharged from the pressure regulating valve is approximately equal to or greater than the starting reference pressure.

摘要: A piston member is slidably accommodated in a housing for defining a master pressure chamber. A simulator piston is provided for defining a simulator chamber and moving in response to operation of a brake pedal. The simulator chamber is communicated with an atmospheric pressure chamber when the piston member is placed in an initial position thereof, and the communication between the master chamber and the atmospheric pressure chamber is blocked when the piston member is advanced from the initial position thereof by a first stroke or more. Furthermore, the communication between the simulator chamber and the atmospheric pressure chamber is blocked when the piston member is advanced from the initial position by a second stroke, which is set to be greater than the first stroke, or more. And, a blocking member is provided for restricting the simulator piston to be retracted up to a position thereof which is placed relative to the piston member when the brake pedal is inoperative.

摘要: A brake control device for a vehicle includes a master cylinder, a wheel cylinder, a brake pedal behavior simulator, a normally-open type electromagnetic valve, a normally-closed type electromagnetic valve, and a brake pressure control device. The brake pressure control device includes a pump, a reservoir, and two electromagnetic valves to increase and decrease wheel cylinder hydraulic pressure. When the brake pressure control device is normally operated, a hydraulic pressure in the wheel cylinder is controlled by the brake pressure control device. On the other hand, when the brake pressure control device malfunctions or is abnormally operating, the wheel cylinder hydraulic pressure is controlled by hydraulic pressure generated from the master cylinder. At least the normally-closed type electromagnetic valve is opened when the brake pedal is in the non-operational state.

The master cylinder is operated by auxiliary pressure in the auxiliary pressure chamber to generate a master cylinder pressure corresponding to the auxiliary pressure. A wheel brake cylinder is operated by the master cylinder pressure to apply braking force to a wheel. A pressure modulation device is disposed in a pressure passage connecting the output side of the regulation valve to the auxiliary pressure chamber to modulate the auxiliary pressure to a pressure less than the predetermined.

摘要: In an electric parking brake device, the force line of a motion transmitting force at a contact portion between a motion transmitting member and an intervention member is located inside of an outer surface of an engaging portion between a screw shaft member and a nut member. Thus, when a linear motion of the screw shaft member causes the parking lever to pivotally move, no floating takes place at the engaging portion, so that a one-side hitting can be prevented at the engaging portion. Therefore, the parking lever can be pivotally moved smoothly. Further, one surface of the motion transmitting member contacting the intervention member takes a curved surface to suppress a slippage in the movement that the parking lever is pivotally moved. Therefore, the motion transmitting force by the motion transmitting member can be prevented from becoming an offset load, realizing a smooth pivot movement of the parking lever.

摘要: When a stroke of a manually operated braking member is equal to or smaller than a predetermined stroke, a master pressure chamber of a master cylinder is communicated with an atmospheric pressure reservoir, and an electromagnetic valve and a hydraulic pressure pump are controlled to supply the hydraulic pressure to wheel brake cylinders according to an amount of operation of the manually operated braking member detected by a braking operation detection device. An orifice is provided in a passage between the master pressure chamber and the atmospheric pressure reservoir, and a check valve is disposed in parallel with the electromagnetic valve to allow a flow of the brake fluid from the master cylinder to the wheel brake cylinders, and prohibit its reverse flow.
