One method may include receiving, at a user equipment, a configuration for point-to-multipoint reception of a group-common transport channel. The configuration may include a group-common signaling configuration for a group of user equipment. The method may also include receiving, at the user equipment, a point-to-multipoint reconfiguration message using the group-common signaling configuration on the group-common transport channel from a device (e.g., a network node). The point-to-multipoint reconfiguration message may include an updated point-to-multipoint configuration. The method may then include receiving point-to-multipoint data, from the device on the group-common transport channel, based on the updated point-to-multipoint configuration.

Abstract: An apparatus includes, in some embodiments, at least one processor and at least one memory storing instructions which, when executed by the at least on processor, causes the apparatus at least to receive a multicast service area update request comprising information defining a change in multicast service area for a multicast service session. A user equipment affected by the changed multicast service area is determined, as is a location of the user equipment affected by the changed multicast service area. It is determined whether the user equipment affected by the changed multicast service area is within the changed multicast service area. A protocol data unit session of the user equipment affected by the changed multicast service area is modified with information about the changed multicast service area, based on determining whether the user equipment affected by the changed multicast service area is within the changed multicast service area.

Abstract: A network access node receives an indication of an interval between expected receptions of echo requests that pass through a tunnel that uses an interface between a network element in a core network of the cellular network to the network access node of the cellular network. The network access node determines a threshold time period based on the interval, detects there has been no echo request for a time period greater than the threshold time period, and determines that a failure has occurred of the tunnel that uses the interface. The network access node triggers set up of a new tunnel using the interface due to the failure of the tunnel. Multiple techniques are disclosed for determining that this failure has occurred and recovering from the failure, including setting up a new MBS session or using a new transport address for a current MBS session.
