    Abstract: Geophysical sensor cable. At least some of the example embodiments are methods including creating a geophysical sensor cable by: creating a first window through the insulation of a first electrical conductor; creating a second window through the insulation of a second electrical conductor; placing the first and second electrical conductors in a clip; twisting the first and second electrical conductors to create a twisted pair; electrically coupling a first lead of a seismic sensor to the first electrical conductor through a first window; electrically coupling a second lead of the seismic sensor to the second electrical conductor through a second window; encapsulating at least a portion of an internal volume of the clip; and placing the twisted pair and the seismic sensor within an outer jacket of a geophysical sensor cable.

    Abstract: Managing movement of data packets along a geophysical sensor cable. At least some embodiments include a geophysical sensor cable section having an internal volume within which geophysical sensors are disposed at spaced apart locations. A digitizer is disposed within the internal volume and is communicatively coupled to sensors. A telemetry unit within the internal volume is communicatively coupled to the digitizer. The telemetry unit may comprise multiple forward ports, multiple aft ports and a controller communicatively coupled to the forward ports, the aft ports, and the digitizer. The controller may be configured to: relay downstream-directed packets received on an active forward port through all aft ports; gather sensor data from the digitizer and send the sensor data as upstream-directed packets through the active forward port; and relay any upstream-directed packets received on aft ports through the active forward port.

    Abstract: An apparatus. At least some illustrative embodiments are an apparatus comprising a sensor streamer. The sensor streamer includes at least one seismic streamer section and a first electrode adapter removably attached to the at least one seismic streamer section. The first electrode adapter includes a first electrode, wherein the first electrode is configured to couple to electrical circuitry configured to measure a potential difference between the first electrode at a first potential and a second potential. The conducting member forms a reference potential, wherein the conducting member is floating. The at least one seismic streamer section is without electromagnetic field-sensing components.

In some embodiments, at least two of the particle motion sensors in the group are movable relative to one another within the streamer, and the two particle motion sensors are configured to measure motion along a particular axis.
