摘要: A method and a resistivity image logging tool connected or connectable to one or more processing devices process geological log data to construct missing information from destroyed or occluded parts using cues from observed data. The geological log data signals can be generated through use of the logging tool having one or more electrodes interacting with a formation intersected by a borehole. The processing involves the steps of: in respect of one or more data dimensions associated with missing values in a log data set, decomposing the signal into a plurality of morphological components; and morphologically reconstructing the signal such that missing values are estimated.

摘要: A method of evaluating a subterranean formation includes conveying a tool along a borehole. The tool includes a transmitter that transmits a drive pulse and a receiver that receives at least one formation response to the drive pulse. The method further includes calculating a signal-to-noise ratio of the at least one formation response and comparing the signal-to-noise ratio to a programmable threshold. The method further includes determining, based on the comparing, an adjusted drive pulse to transmit and transmitting the adjusted drive pulse. The method further includes and receiving at least one formation response to the adjusted drive pulse and deriving formation data from the at least one formation response to the adjusted drive pulse. The method further includes displaying a representation of the formation based on the formation data.

摘要: A device and method for calculating electrical properties of a surveyed underground formation. The method includes selecting a waveform having multiple current transition rates; placing a time-domain electromagnetic (TEM) system above the underground formation while generating with a transmitter a transient primary magnetic field during an on-time period and no magnetic field during a following off-time period, due to the waveform; and recording with a receiver magnetic related data generated by the earth as a result of the transient primary magnetic field. The receiver records the magnetic related data during the on-time period using plural on-time gates sampling.

摘要: A logging tool capable of making different types of measurements is provided, and a plurality of measurements on a formation are obtained. Certain mineral properties of the formation are assumed and a mixed properties theorem for the formation is invoked. Upper and lower velocity limits for sonic waves traveling through the formation are determined using the above information. Biot's constant is also computed using the above information. LWD data on the formation is obtained and an effective stress is determined. A total stress is determined and, from that and the other information, a pore pressure is determined.

One method includes determining a first position of the device, sensing at least one magnetic anomaly at the first position, estimating a location of the magnetic anomaly relative to the first position by determining a plurality of magnetic properties of the magnetic anomaly based on sensed signals of at least a magnetic sensor, and estimating a second position of the device based on a sensed change in a distance from the magnetic anomaly to the device.

摘要: A method, a system, and an apparatus are described for the data acquisition in the well-logging of a borehole wall during the investigation of formation properties. Data acquisition is conducted by either an adaptive phase compensation processing or a modulus mode processing, both of which use in-phase and out-of-phase current components to obtain current values. Adaptive phase compensation employs a calculation of a phase shift compensation value, which may then be applied to subsequent acquisitions and can be further processed in the generation of an image of the borehole wall.
