Abstract: Disclosed are flexible printed circuits incorporated into marine geophysical streamers. An embodiment discloses an apparatus comprising: a streamer; and a flexible printed circuit located in the streamer. Another embodiment discloses an apparatus comprising: a jacket; a strength member extending along a length of the jacket and disposed inside the jacket; geophysical sensors disposed inside the jacket; spacers disposed at spaced apart locations along the jacket; and a flexible printed circuit assembly extending along a length of the jacket. Another embodiment discloses a method comprising: towing at least one streamer in a body of water, wherein the at least one streamer comprises a flexible printed circuit.

An embodiment discloses a streamer for geophysical surveying comprising: a jacket; geophysical sensors; and a flexible printed circuit assembly disposed inside the jacket and coupled to the geophysical sensors, wherein the flexible printed circuit assembly comprises sensor signal conductors that communicatively couple the flexible printed circuit assembly to two or more of the geophysical sensors.

Abstract: Geophysical sensor cable. At least some of the example embodiments are methods including creating a geophysical sensor cable by: creating a first window through the insulation of a first electrical conductor; creating a second window through the insulation of a second electrical conductor; placing the first and second electrical conductors in a clip; twisting the first and second electrical conductors to create a twisted pair; electrically coupling a first lead of a seismic sensor to the first electrical conductor through a first window; electrically coupling a second lead of the seismic sensor to the second electrical conductor through a second window; encapsulating at least a portion of an internal volume of the clip; and placing the twisted pair and the seismic sensor within an outer jacket of a geophysical sensor cable.
