Abstract: An image display device includes: a light source; a screen on which an image is formed when light from the light source is applied thereto; an optical system configured to generate a virtual image by light from the screen; an actuator configured to move the screen in an optical axis direction; a position detector configured to detect a movement position of the screen; a servo circuit configured to cause the movement of the screen by the actuator to follow a target waveform on the basis of a signal from the position detector; and a correction circuit configured to reduce a deviation between a timing to move the screen by the servo circuit and a timing to form the image on the screen.

Abstract: The image display device further includes a scanning unit that uses light from the light source to scan the movable screen and the fixed screen, and an optical system that uses light from the movable screen and the fixed screen to generate a virtual image, a drive unit that moves the movable screen, a structure body that supports the fixed screen at a fixed position such that the fixed screen is closer to the optical system than the movable screen is, and a magnetic cover that covers a movable part of the drive unit. The structure body covers an area around an opening of the magnetic cover to shield the movable part of the drive unit from stray light travelling backward via the optical system.

Abstract: An image display device includes a light source, a screen, a scanning unit, an optical system, a drive unit, a support base, and a fixed base. The screen is irradiated with light from the light source, and an image is thus formed on the screen. The scanning unit scans the light from the light source along multiple scanning lines on the screen. The optical system forms a virtual image using the light from the screen. The drive unit moves the screen in an optical axis direction. The support base supports the drive unit. The fixed base supports the support base via a damper. The support base is supported by the fixed base such that the support base has support rigidity higher in a first direction in which a visual distance of a display image is changed in association with the movement of the screen than in directions other than the first direction.

Abstract: An image display device includes a light source that emits a light beam, a screen, a scanning section that scans the screen with the light beam, an optical system, a drive section, and a screen drive circuit. The optical system generates a virtual image by using the light beam that has passed through the screen. The drive section moves the screen at least in parallel to a travel direction of the light beam. The screen drive circuit contains a drive signal table that stores an information group for use in generating a drive signal tailored to stop the screen at different stop locations over different stop periods. The screen drive circuit selects first information in the drive signal table which is associated with displaying of an image and supplies the drive section with a first drive signal generated from the first information.

Abstract: An image display device includes a light source, a scanner, a screen, a virtual image optical system and a screen incident angle correcting optical system. The light source emits laser light. The scanner scans the laser light. An image is formed on the screen by the scanned laser light. The virtual image optical system generates a virtual image of the image by the laser light having transmitted through the screen. The screen incident angle correcting optical system orients the scanned laser light toward the screen. The scanner performs at least first scanning and second scanning that has a scanning direction different from a scanning direction of the first scanning. The screen includes a lenticular lens having a lens pitch in a direction parallel to the first scanning. The lens pitch of the lenticular lens is larger than a beam diameter of the laser light near a light receiving surface of the screen.
