Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes an arrangement of pixels, wherein each of the pixels includes at least three subpixels, wherein the second subpixel is a Red subpixel, in contrast to the traditional Red-Green-Blue subpixel configuration. Further, a signal line is disposed next to each of the subpixels, but a common line is disposed next to a subpixel which is not a Red subpixel. Thus, the second subpixel, which is a Red subpixel, has on both sides thereof signal lines, but lacks a common line next thereto.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate disposed in opposition. The first substrate includes gate lines, data lines, pixel electrodes, and an insulating film being superimposed, in plan view, over the gate lines, the data lines, and the pixel electrodes. The second substrate includes a first colored portion transmitting light of a first color, a second colored portion transmitting light of a second color, and a light-shielding portion disposed in a boundary area between the first colored portion and the second colored portion, for blocking transmittance of light of the first color and light of the second color. The insulating film includes a first portion overlapping, in plan view, the first colored portion or the second colored portion, and a second portion overlapping, in plan view, the light-shielding portion and being of thicker film thickness than the first portion.

Abstract: A display device comprises: data lines extending in a first direction; gate lines extending in a second direction, and being divided into groups each of which has the gate lines adjacent in the first direction; selection signal supplying wirings each of which is provided in each group, and connected to each control electrode of the selector transistors corresponding to the group; gate voltage supplying wirings connected to the other conductive electrode of each of the selector transistors corresponding to the group; and wherein a gate driver supplies a second gate voltage having a voltage level lower than that of a first gate voltage to at least one of the gate voltage supplying wirings in each of the groups before supplying the first gate voltage in order to turn on a pixel transistor disposed in an intersection portion of the data line and the gate line.
