Abstract: Disclosed are systems, devices and methods for transmission of messages between wireless transceiver devices including fields representing values such as, for example, a range between devices, time of transmission of a message or time of receipt of a previous message. In particular embodiments, message may also comprise fields to express a maximum error in values representing range, time of transmission of a message or time of receipt of a previous message.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems and devices for obtaining a range between devices based, at least in part, on an exchange of wireless messages. For example, wireless devices may obtain measurements of range based, at least in part, on an exchange fine timing measurement (FTM) messages. In one implementation, a subsequent FTM message transmitted in response to an FTM request message may comprise at least one field indicating a time of transmission of a previous FTM message and a time of receipt of an acknowledgement message transmitted in response to the previous FTM message.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for performing ranging operations between an initiator device and a responder device. The initiator device may transmit, to the responder device, a fine timing measurement (FTM) request frame including a request to estimate angle information for a number of frames exchanged between the initiator device and the responder device and indicating a level of accuracy for the estimated angle information. The initiator device may receive a first FTM frame from the responder device, and may transmit an acknowledgement (ACK) frame to the responder device. The initiator device may receive, from the responder device, a second FTM frame including angle information of the first FTM frame and timing information of one or more of the exchanged frames.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are presented for obfuscating the locations of terrestrial wireless transceivers, including wireless access points and femtocells. According to some embodiments, a method may receive, by a mobile device, data for a terrestrial wireless transceiver, wherein the data includes location coordinates of the terrestrial wireless transceiver, and wherein the location coordinates include an error term. Additionally, the method may include determining the error term based on the data. Furthermore, the method may include determining a corrected location of the terrestrial wireless transceiver by removing the error term from the location coordinates. In some instances, the data can further include a unique identifier associated with the terrestrial wireless transceiver, and wherein the error term is further determined based on the unique identifier.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure may compensate for movements of a transmitting device when estimating angular information of wireless signals transmitted by the transmitting device. In some aspects, a receiving device may detect a movement of the transmitting device, and determine the angular information of the wireless signals based at least in part on the movement of the transmitting device. The wireless signals may include a first signal received at a first time and a second signal received at a second time, and the angular information may be determined based on the movement of the transmitting device from the first time to the second time. For example, the receiving device may determine the angular information based on the first signal, and may adjust the angular information based on the second signal if the movement of the transmitting device exceeds a threshold distance.
