Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, to a channel engineering device, a configuration for performing a downlink beam refinement procedure with a user equipment (UE). The channel engineering device may transmit one or more reference signals (e.g., one or more channel state information reference signals) to the UE. For instance, the channel engineering device may transmit the one or more reference signals to the UE over resources configured by the base station or may deflect (e.g., reflect, refract, or both) reference signals transmitted to the channel engineering device by the base station. After receiving the one or more reference signals, the UE may transmit a report to the channel engineering device that the channel engineering device may use to update a channel configuration of the channel engineering device (e.g., updating a downlink beam or angle of deflection at the channel engineering device).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving device may receive a signal over a first frequency from a transmitting device. The receiving device may determine a set of angular offsets associated with communicating signals over a set of frequencies based on the angle of arrival of the signal, where each frequency of the set of frequency may be offset from the first frequency by a different amount. The receiving device may indicate the set of angular offsets to the transmitting device. The transmitting device may adapt a reception configuration for receiving signals from the receiving device, transmitting signal to the receiving device, or both based on the indication of the set of angular offsets.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may configure multiple phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) patterns in a single time interval (e.g., a slot) to improve phase tracking and phase noise estimation. The base station may transmit control signaling indicating multiple PTRS patterns for the time interval, and a user equipment (UE) may monitor for PTRSs in the time interval according to the indicated patterns to estimate a phase for receiving a downlink message from the base station. In some examples, the UE may signal a list of preferred PTRS patterns for the base station to use based on channel conditions. For example, the UE may transmit a report indicating one or more preferred PTRS patterns and a respective quantity of symbols in which the base station is to use each pattern.

Techniques described herein provide for a user equipment (UE) with a Modulated Retro Reflector (MRR) to support full duplex Optical Wireless Communications. To achieve full duplex communication, the UE and a network entity may use compatible modulation schemes for downlink communications and uplink communications. The UE and network entity may negotiate and agree upon compatible the uplink and downlink modulation schemes. The UE may receive a downlink OWC transmission using the downlink modulation scheme and transmit an uplink OWC transmission via modulating the downlink transmission in accordance with the uplink modulation scheme.

In some implementations, a wireless communications network may support per-beam synchronization signal block (SSB) periodicity configurations. A network entity may transmit, using a first beam, a first SSB associated with a cell supported by the network entity. The first SSB may include a first broadcast channel that indicates a first periodicity for transmission of the first SSB associated using the first beam. In addition, the network entity may transmit, using a second beam, a second SSB associated with the cell supported by the network entity. Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for radio frequency (RF) beamforming using a plurality of differently skewed cylindrical lenses. In one example, an apparatus for wireless communication may include a plurality of cylindrical lenses, each respective cylindrical lens of the plurality of cylindrical lenses having a respective first surface and a respective second surface opposite to the respective first surface. Each respective cylindrical lens can include a power direction corresponding to a curvature of each respective first surface and a non-power direction that is orthogonal to the power direction. The apparatus can further include at least one linear antenna array disposed proximate to each respective second surface of each respective cylindrical lens, the at least one linear antenna array including a plurality of antenna array elements.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device, such as a user equipment (UE) or base station, may receive, at a first antenna of a first antenna array, a first set of reference signals. The first device may measure the phase for each of the reference signals and estimate a linear offset between the first antenna array and a second antenna array of a second device that transmitted the reference signals. The first device may adjust an alignment of the first antenna array according to the estimated linear offset. The first device may receive a second set of reference signals, measure the phase for each of the reference signals, and estimate one or more rotational offsets between the first antenna array and the second antenna array. The first device may adjust the alignment of the first antenna array based on the one or more rotational offsets.
