摘要: A method and apparatus for measuring particulates in a combustion gas is accomplished by dividing the combustion gas into a first and second sample gas. The first sample gas is filtered to remove particulates to create a reference gas sample. A combustion furnace can heat both the reference gas sample and the sample gas to oxidize any particulates in the sample gas. A gas analyzer that is connected to the furnace can detect the gas components in, respectively, the reference gas sample and the sample gas, and a comparison of the detected results can determine the concentration of particulates.

摘要: A method of using an opto-acoustic apparatus for measuring, in an environment containing extraneous noise, the concentration of a gas in a mixture of gases or of particulates in a gas. The method is constituted by the steps of providing a measuring opto-acoustic cell having gas inlet and gas outlet for receiving and discharging a gas containing a particulate or a mixture of gases containing a gas the concentration of which is to be measured, directing laser rays from a laser ray generating device into the opto-acoustic cell, placing a chopper in the path of the laser rays between the device and the cell and operating the chopper for chopping the laser rays at a frequency corresponding to the resonant frequency of the cell, providing a narrow band microphone having a resonator with a narrow resonance frequency range including the resonant frequency of the cell and sufficiently narrow to exclude unwanted noise signals from the environment in which the cell is located, placing the microphone on the cell for detecting the sound signal generated by changes in the internal pressure of the cell, and determining from the sound signal the concentration of the gas in the mixture of gases or the concentration of the particulates in the gas.

摘要: A phase shift between two repeated square wave signals having equal frequency and duty is detected and detected phase shift is integrated during the appointed cycles of the square wave signals and the mean value per cycle is calculated from the integrated value, and a phase of one signal is overlapped on a phase of another signal automatically at the mean value. The same phase can be automatically given to two square wave signals having different phases.

摘要: The invention presents a differential pressure type emission flow rate measuring method and apparatus and an emission measuring system using the same apparatus, capable of correcting measuring error occurring due to pulsation appropriately and enhancing the measuring precision of flow rate when measuring the flow rate of emission having pulsation. The invention, in measuring the flow rate of an emission exhausted from an engine, determines an accurate flow rate in spite of pulsation by using a differential pressure type flowmeter as the flowmeter, resolving the detected differential pressure signal by frequency, and correcting by using a correction coefficient predetermined depending on each frequency obtained by frequency resolution.

摘要: The direction of change of an analog signal which is digitally displayed on a digital display can be immediately determined at a glance by providing a change-display in the vicinity of the digital display, which digitally displays the analog signal value. The change-display displays whether the analog input signal is increasing or decreasing by comparing the present value of the input signal with a previous value thereof. This comparison may be effected by integrating the input signal and comparing the integrated input signal with the input signal or by differentiating the input signal or by using a sample and hold circuit to hold a previous input signal value which is then compared with the present input signal value.
