    摘要: Certain chemical compounds, which are aromatic heterocyclic-substituted derivatives of 4H-thiopyran-1,1,-dioxide given by the formula (I) wherein Het is a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring system containing at least one 5-membered heterocyclic aromatic ring; and R is an alkyl, aralkyl, or cycloalkyl group of 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, or an aryl group of 6 to about 12 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring system containing at least one 5-membered aromatic heterocyclic ring, are electron-transport agents. These compounds exhibit good speed and toe voltage properties in electrophotographic elements. ##STR1##

    摘要: The invention provides a multiactive electrophotographic element comprising an electrically conductive substrate, a charge generation layer, and a charge transport layer, wherein the charge transport layer contains an electron transport agent having the structure: ##STR1## wherein J is H, Cl, Br, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, or aryl further substituted with halo or alkyl; and wherein R is styryl, aryl, or heteroaryl in which the hetero atom is S or O, each of which R is unsubstituted or further substituted with alkyl, halo, alkoxy, nitro, hydroxy, cyano, trifluoromethyl, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, alkoxycarbonyl, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, arylamino, or alkylarylamino.Such an element exhibits a good combination of electrophotographic performance properties.

    摘要: An electrophotographic element comprises a polyester-imide that includes a dioxy component and a dicarbonyl component, one of which components contains an aromatic tetracarbonyldiimide group, and has the formula ##STR1## wherein Ar.sup.1 represents a tetravalent aromatic group having 6 to about 20 carbon atoms, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents an alkylene group having 2 to about 12 carbon atoms, L.sup.1 and L.sup.2 represent O or C.dbd.O; when L.sup.1 and L.sup.2 are O, Z.sup.1 and Z.sup.2 each independently represents an aromatic or aliphatic dicarbonyl group having about 4 to about 12 carbon atoms and Q represents an alkylenedioxy group having 2 to about 25 carbon atoms or ##STR2## wherein Ar.sup.2 represents a tetravalent aromatic group having 6 to about 20 carbon atoms that may be the same as or different from Ar.sup.1, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each independently represents an alkylene group having 2 to about 12 carbon atoms; and L.sup.3 and L.sup.4 are O; or when L.sup.1 and L.sup.2 are C.dbd.O, Z.sup.1 and Z.sup.2 each independently represent an alkylenedioxy group having 2 to about 25 carbon atoms and Q represents an aromatic or aliphatic dicarbonyl group having about 4 to about 12 carbon atoms or ##STR3## wherein Ar.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are as defined above, and L.sup.3 and L.sup.4 are C.dbd.O; x represents the mole fraction of the dioxy or dicarbonyl component of the polyester-amide that contains the tetravalent aromatic group Ar.sup.1, and y represents the mole fraction of the dioxy or dicarbonyl component of the polyester-imide that contains Z.sup.1, wherein x is 0.05 to 1 and y is 0 to 0.95.
