Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coating a planar workpiece. In order to provide a planar workpiece, which is produced from a workpiece having lignocellulose fibers and a proportion of more than 50 wt % binding agent and optionally filler, with improved performance characteristics, a method is provided having the following steps: providing the planar workpiece, which has an upper face and a lower face and a lateral surface, applying a coating, applying a decoration, optionally structuring the coating, at least on a portion of an upper face, a lower face, or a lateral surface, in each case, and optionally curing the coating.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing wood materials from lignocellulose-containing crushed products, in particular for producing wooden insulating panels or OSB boards, wherein in order to decrease or reduce the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and, if relevant, very volatile organic compounds (VVOC), including terpenes, acids and aldehydes, said wood materials are treated with a combination of additives during production. According to the invention, the treatment is carried out with a first component made of porous carbon and a second component, a hydrogen sulphite salt. The invention further relates to wood materials that can be obtained using the method according to the invention, having reduced emissions of VOCs, including terpenes, acids and aldehydes. Finally the present invention relates to the use of a combination of additives, formed by a first component with a porous carbon and a second component made of hydrogen sulphide salt, for decreasing or reducing the emission of VOCs from wood materials during or after production thereof from lignocellulose-containing crushed products.

Abstract: A process for treating wood strands suitable for producing OSBs includes treating the wood strands in water at a temperature in the range from 50° C. to 100° C. The present invention likewise relates to a process for producing wood-based OSBs, in particular wood-based OSBs having reduced emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including: a) production of wood strands from suitable timbers; b) treatment of at least part of the wood strands with water; c) drying of the wood strands which have been treated with the water; d) coating of the wood strands which have been treated with water and dried and coating of wood strands which have not been treated with water with at least one binder; e) scattering of the glue-coated wood strands on a conveyor belt; and f) pressing of the glue-coated wood strands to give a wood-based OSB.

The method including the steps of providing wood strands, applying at least one adhesive system to the wood strands having at least one polymer adhesive and at least one nanoparticle below 500 nm, and pressing the wood strands admixed with the adhesive system to form wood-base panels.
