Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a data driver and a driving controller. The display panel is configured to display an image based on input image data. The data driver is configured to output a data voltage to the display panel. The driving controller includes a frequency adjuster circuit configured to determine a driving frequency of the display panel, and a dithering circuit configured to change a grayscale value of the input image data according to frames. The frequency adjuster circuit is configured to determine the driving frequency of the display panel based on the input image data and based on whether the dithering part is activated.

Abstract: A pixel circuit includes a main-circuit that controls an organic light-emitting element by controlling a driving current to flow into the organic light-emitting element and a sub-circuit including a first compensation transistor including a gate terminal which receives a first gate signal, a second compensation transistor including a gate terminal which receives a second gate signal, and an initialization transistor including a gate terminal which receives an initialization signal. Here, in a low-frequency driving mode, a driving frequency of the first gate signal is N hertz (Hz), a driving frequency of the initialization signal is N Hz, a driving frequency of the second gate signal is M Hz, the first compensation transistor and the initialization transistor are turned on during a first time duration in N non-light-emitting periods per second, and the second compensation transistor is turned on during a second time duration in M non-light-emitting periods per second.

Abstract: A display driver includes a still image detector configured to receive a compressed image bitstream at an input frame frequency from a host processor, and to detect a still image by comparing the compressed image bitstream of a current frame and the compressed image bitstream of a previous frame, a driving frequency changer configured to output the compressed image bitstream at a first output frame frequency equal to the input frame frequency when the still image is not detected, and to output the compressed image bitstream at a second output frame frequency lower than the input frame frequency when the still image is detected, and a decoder configured to generate original image data at the first output frame frequency and the second output frame frequency.

During the multi-frequency mode, when the second driving frequency changes from a first frequency to a second frequency, the driving controller drives the first display area and the second display area during at least one frame by using a base frequency, drives the first display area and the second display area during at least one second frame by using an intermediate frequency between the base frequency and the second frequency, and then drives the first display area by using the first driving frequency and drives the second display area by using the second frequency.
