Abstract: An array substrate and a display apparatus including the array substrate are provided. The array substrate includes a substrate divided into a display area and a peripheral area adjacent to the display area. A pixel array is formed on the substrate corresponding to the display area and receives a driving signal. A driving circuit includes a plurality of stages and is formed on the substrate corresponding to the peripheral area. Each of the stages includes a first transistor having a source electrode connected to an output terminal to output the driving signal, a channel layer formed between a gate insulating layer and the source electrode, the channel layer having an opening to facilitate contact between a portion of the gate insulating layer and the source electrode, and a capacitor defined by a gate electrode of the first transistor, the source electrode, and the gate insulating layer contacting the source electrode.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a driver chip. The first substrate includes a plurality of gate lines disposed in the display area and extended in a first direction, a plurality of data lines disposed on a gate insulating layer insulating the gate lines and extended in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, and a gate driving circuit section disposed in the first peripheral area adjacent to first ends of the gate lines. The second substrate is opposite to the first substrate. A liquid crystal is interposed between the first and second substrates. The driver chip is disposed in the second peripheral area adjacent to second ends of the gate lines opposite to the first ends so that the width of the upper and lower portions of the display area may be decreased.

An n-th stage includes a first input block configured to provide a first DC voltage to a first node in response to a plurality of selection signals, a pull-down block configured to pull down a first node voltage, a second input block configured to reduce a voltage drop of a second node voltage when a scan signal is output, and to provide a second DC voltage to a second node in response to the selection signals, a buffer block configured to output the first node voltage, that is a buffer output voltage, in response to the first node voltage and the second node voltage, and an output block configured to output the scan signal.

In one aspect, the display includes a flexible substrate including first concave bent portion and a pad formed over the first concave bent portion of the flexible substrate and including a second concave bent portion overlapping the first concave bent portion. The display further includes a connection pin electrically connected to the second concave bent portion. The connection pin has a central portion and a boundary portion surrounding the central portion. The height of the central portion is greater than that of the boundary portion.
