摘要: A liquid crystal display having a liquid crystal display panel for modulating light to form an image and a back light unit having a plurality of lamp tubes without inside electrodes and which are discharged by outside electrodes disposed along an outer surface of the at least one lamp tube, the back light unit being disposed behind the liquid crystal display panel. One outside electrode disposed at the at least one of the plurality of lamp tubes is electrically connected with another outside electrode disposed at an another adjacent lamp tube.

摘要: A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel which has first and second drain lines groups, a control circuit board which has a control unit, a first and second drain drivers groups connected to the corresponding first and second drain lines groups, a back light unit, a metal frame, and a shield member which shields against EMI. Both of the first and second drain drivers groups are arranged at a same peripheral side of the liquid crystal display panel. The control unit supplies first and second signals to the drain drivers groups via flexible printed circuits which are connected to the control circuit board. The control circuit board is sandwiched between the metal frame and the shield member, and the metal frame is arranged between the control circuit board and the liquid crystal display panel.

摘要: A plasma display panel, one of flat panel display device, having improved electrical connections and the driving method thereof are disclosed. The plasma display panel and the driving method thereof have the advantage of diminishing the number of the high voltage driving ICs of high price by effectively constituting the connections of the discharge electrodes to diminish the number of the driving circuits. In addition, since the total scan electrodes are divided into two blocks, and are driven sequentially and alternately from a block to another, the influence of crosstalks by the leakage of the space charge may be diminished by disposing scan electrodes concurrently impressed with voltage signals to be relatively far apart.

摘要: A low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp in which a rare gas and mercury are provided in an outer bulb, which in turn contains therein a plurality of bent inner tubes, each having an opening at an end and an electrode at the other end thereof. A starting probe is provided between the openings in the outer bulb. An operating circuit or starter is connected to the electrodes. Further, a starting probe circuit is connected to the starting probe to apply a high voltage to the starting probe at the time of ignition.

摘要: A tone display method for displaying a tone of an image in a display system which divides a time width of a field of an image signal into a plurality of weighted subfields and controls operation of the subfields. The tone display method includes the steps of coding the image signal in the plurality of weighted subfields the plurality of weighted subfields including a plurality of most significant subfields having respective weights which are substantially equal to one another, and a plurality of less significant subfields having respective weights each of which is less than each of the weights of the most significant subfields, a sum of all of the weights of the less significant subfields being greater than each of the weights of the most significant subfields, the coding being chosen from a plurality of codings all representing substantially a same tone level when a tone level of the image signal is not less than each of the weights of the most significant subfields, and displaying the image signal coded with the chosen coding.
