    摘要: A high pressure metallization apparatus provides a chamber for enclosing or enveloping a substrate in a high pressure environment, and thereby extrude a film layer into any voids in the covers holes or trenches thereon. The high pressure is maintained in a pressure chamber, which is substantially enclosed within a vacuum chamber. The apparatus includes a positioning member which relatively rigidly positions the pressure chamber plugs during high pressure operations, and also allows separation of the plugs to enable pressure chamber access. The apparatus is configured for relatively rapid access to the internal components thereof, for rapid service and cleaning turnaround. Additionally, the chamber is configured to have minimal relative movement between the structural elements thereof, to reduce particle generation in the apparatus.

    摘要: A spacer to maintain separation between garments on hangers hanging on a clothes rod being a collar having a clam shell construction so that the spacer can be opening for attachment to, or removal from, the closet rod thereby avoiding the necessity of removing the bar from the closet. In preferred embodiment the spacer is generally cylindrical of diameter greater than the inner diameter of the coat hanger hook and having rounded ends to cause the hangers to rest on the rod. One or more hook retaining grooves may be included medially of the ends. Snap closure means secures the two hemi-shells closed. At least one of the shells may be decoratively configured, e.g. a Disney character or the like to appeal to children. The plastic may be color-coded or labeled.

    摘要: In one embodiment, a surgical instrument includes a housing linkable with a manipulator arm of a robotic surgical system, a shaft operably coupled to the housing, a force transducer on a distal end of the shaft, and a plurality of fiber optic strain gauges on the force transducer. In one example, the plurality of strain gauges are operably coupled to a fiber optic splitter or an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) multiplexer. A fiber optic connector is operably coupled to the fiber optic splitter or the AWG multiplexer. A wrist joint is operably coupled to a distal end of the force transducer, and an end effector is operably coupled to the wrist joint. In another embodiment, a robotic surgical manipulator includes a base link operably coupled to a distal end of a manipulator positioning system, and a distal link movably coupled to the base link, wherein the distal link includes an instrument interface and a fiber optic connector optically linkable to a surgical instrument. A method of passing data between an instrument and a manipulator via optical connectors is also provided.

    摘要: The present invention generally relates to surgical devices, systems, and methods, especially for minimally invasive surgery, and more particularly provides structures and techniques for aligning a robotic surgery system with a desired surgical site. The present invention describes techniques for mounting, configuring and arranging set-up arms for the surgical manipulators and endoscope drive mechanisms of a telesurgical system within an operating theater. The various aspects of the invention improve and optimize space utilization in the conduct of a surgical procedure, especially in the telesurgical systems which provide for concurrent operation by two surgeons using multiple robotic arm assemblies. In one aspect, the invention includes a method and apparatus for ceiling-height mounting of surgical set-up arms, and in another aspect, the invention includes a method and apparatus for the mounting of surgical setup arms to the table pedestal or floor below an operating table. The ceiling-height-mounted robotic arm assembly and below-table-mounted robotic arm assembly may be pre-configured to be ready for surgery while the fixable set-up arms are disposed generally clear of the personnel-usable space adjacent the operating table. Examples are described of separate and combined use of the ceiling mount and floor/pedestal mount aspects in both single and dual surgeon telesurgical systems.
