Abstract: A dehumidification system includes a primary evaporator, a primary condenser, a secondary evaporator, a secondary condenser, a superheat control evaporator, and a modulating valve. The superheat control evaporator is disposed parallel to the secondary evaporator and is configured to receive one of the inlet airflows and output a first airflow to the primary evaporator. The secondary evaporator is configured to receive another one of the inlet airflows and output a second airflow to the primary evaporator. The primary evaporator receives the first and second airflows and outputs a third airflow to the secondary condenser. The secondary condenser receives the third airflow and outputs a fourth airflow to the primary condenser. The primary condenser outputs a dischargeable airflow. The modulating valve directs the flow of refrigerant to the secondary condenser or to the primary evaporator, depending on the mode of operation.

Abstract: A dehumidification system includes a compressor, a primary evaporator, a primary condenser, a secondary evaporator, a secondary condenser, a modulating valve, and a liquid-cooled alternate condenser. The secondary evaporator receives an inlet airflow and outputs a first airflow to the primary evaporator. The primary evaporator receives the first airflow and outputs a second airflow to the secondary condenser. The secondary condenser receives the second airflow and outputs a third airflow to the primary condenser. The primary condenser receives the third airflow and outputs a dehumidified airflow. The compressor receives a flow of refrigerant from the primary evaporator and provides the flow of refrigerant to the modulating valve. The modulating valve directs the flow of refrigerant to the primary condenser and to the alternate condenser. The alternate condenser receives a portion of the flow of refrigerant and transfers heat from the refrigerant to a flow of fluid.

Abstract: A portable dehumidifier includes a cabinet and a pivoting handle. The pivoting handle is configured to pivot from a stored position to an engaged position. The pivoting handle includes a cross member, two extension members, and a cam arm. The cam arm is coupled to one of the extension members at an end of the extension member that is opposite the cross member. The cam arm includes a spring arm configured to engage with a locking pin coupled to the cabinet, a clearance hole configured to permit the cam arm to clear the locking pin when the pivoting handle is in the stored position, an aperture configured to permit a pivot pin to secure the cam arm to the cabinet, and a compression gap adjacent to the spring arm. The compression gap is configured to permit the spring arm to provide resistance to the pivoting handle during pivoting.

Abstract: A portable dehumidifier includes a plurality of recesses along a top edge of the portable dehumidifier and a plurality of protrusions along a bottom edge of the portable dehumidifier. The plurality of recesses permit a second portable dehumidifier to stack on top of the portable dehumidifier, and the plurality of protrusions permit the portable dehumidifier to stack on top of the second portable dehumidifier. The portable dehumidifier also includes a plurality of microchannel condenser coils and a fan located adjacent to the airflow outlet, the fan is configured to generate an airflow that flows into the portable dehumidifier through an airflow inlet and out of the portable dehumidifier through the airflow outlet, the airflow flowing through an evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condenser coils in order to provide dehumidification to the airflow.

Abstract: A dehumidifier includes a desiccant, first and second fans, and a bracket. The first fan generates a process airflow through a first portion of the desiccant as it rotates in order to provide dehumidification. The second fan generates a reactivation airflow through a second portion of the desiccant as it rotates in order to dry the desiccant. The bracket is configured to mount the first fan within the dehumidifier. The bracket includes a first portion coupled to the first fan that supports weight of the first fan when the dehumidifier is in an upright position. The bracket also includes a support member coupled to the first portion and a side of the dehumidifier. The side member supports weight of the first fan when the dehumidifier is in a horizontal position.

Abstract: A portable dehumidifier includes multiple microchannel condenser coils, a fan, a water reservoir, and a bracket. The fan is located adjacent to an airflow outlet and is configured to generate an airflow that flows into the portable dehumidifier through an airflow inlet and out of the portable dehumidifier through the airflow outlet. The airflow flows through an evaporator and the plurality of microchannel condenser coils in order to provide dehumidification to the airflow. The water reservoir is located at least partially below the evaporator and is configured to store water removed from the airflow. The water reservoir includes a top that is at least partially open to capture water falling from the evaporator. The bracket is coupled to a compressor and covers a portion of the open top of the water reservoir in order to prevent the water from spilling when the portable dehumidifier is tilted at an angle.

Abstract: A dehumidifier includes a desiccant, a first fan, a second fan, and a circuit. The first fan generates a process airflow through a first portion of the desiccant as it rotates to provide dehumidification. The process airflow enters the dehumidifier through a process airflow inlet and exits through a process airflow outlet. The second fan generates a reactivation airflow through a second portion of the desiccant to dry the desiccant. The reactivation airflow enters the dehumidifier through a reactivation airflow inlet and exits through a reactivation airflow outlet. The circuit includes a power setting switch that controls whether the dehumidifier operates in a low or high power setting. In the low power setting, the dehumidifier operates on power from a first electrical outlet type. In the high power setting, the dehumidifier operates on power from a second electrical outlet type that is different from the first electrical outlet type.
