    摘要: A surface light source device of side light type is provided with guide plate, a primary light source, a reflection sheet and a prism sheet. The back surface of the guide plate provides a light control surface (arrows D to F). This light control surface has a great number of projections running generally at right angles to an incidence end surface. Each projection includes a pair of slopes. Inclination angles of the slopes of the pair with respect to a normal to a general plane of the guide plate are equal to each other on a generally central portion of an emission surface, while inclination angles of respective inner slopes become larger gradually than those of respective outer slopes toward areas near both side portions, as viewed from an incidence end surface. Length between two side edges of the guide plate may be larger than length thereof along the running direction of the projections, as viewed from the incidence end surface. An emission surface of the guide plate may provide a light control surface, in which a pair of slopes of each projection thereof may be provided with different inclination angles in a similar fashion.

    摘要: A surface light source device of side light type illuminating an LCD panel and comprising a guide plate, a primary light source, a reflection sheet, and a prism sheet for light control. A plurality of fine light scattering elements and rough area M are formed on an emission face of the guide plate. The rough area M is formed among the light scattering elements and has scattering power weaker than that of the light scattering elements. The dot-like light scattering elements are distributed according to a certain pattern that is designed to promote emission. Emission is promoted where the light scattering elements are formed and also in the area M. Accordingly, fine periodic bright-dark unevenness and glaring are reduced and the prism sheet, disposed on the emission face, is prevented from sticking to the emission face.

    摘要: Provided is a light emitting device having an inner-propagation-medium which caused directivity-to-optical-axis-direction to be relaxed. Light of a LED travels in the inner-propagation-medium, being emitted from an inside area of or outside area in a lens surface directly or via an inclined reflection face. A light emitter provides an output light having an intensity profile with a half-intensity-angular-range not greater than 20°, which expresses directivity of the output light. The outside area in the lens surface performs a traveling-direction-expanding-function which is not only relatively intensive as compared that performed by the inside area in the lens surface, and but also relatively intensive as compared that performed in an imaginary case where the outside area gives a planar surface perpendicular to an optical axis. The half-intensity-angular-range of the intensity profile of the light emitting device is not smaller than 30° with respect to the optical axis and not greater than 70°. The lens face may be formed of one or more convex surfaces in the outside area.
