A thin film transistor array panel is provided, which includes: gate lines formed on an insulating substrate; data lines insulated from the gate lines and intersecting the gate lines; first pixel electrodes disposed on pixel areas defined by intersections of the gate lines and the data lines; first thin film transistors, each having three terminals connected to one of the gate lines, one of the data lines, and one of the first pixel electrodes; second pixel electrodes disposed on the pixel areas and capacitively coupled to the first pixel electrodes; and second thin film transistors, each having three terminals connected to a previous gate line, a storage electrode line or one of the data lines, and one of the second pixel electrodes.

    摘要: A thin film transistor (TFT) array panel that automatically matches the gamma curves of the reflective mode and the transmissive mode is presented. The TFT array panel includes a substrate, a switching element formed on the substrate and including an input terminal, an output terminal, and a control terminal. A transmissive electrode is connected to the output terminal, and a first reflective electrode is connected to the output terminal. A storage electrode is formed on a layer that underlies the output terminal and separated from the output terminal to form a storage capacitor with the output terminal. A second reflective electrode is formed on a layer that is above the output terminal and separated from the output terminal to form an auxiliary capacitor with the output terminal.

    摘要: Disclosed is a display device together with a method of modifying image signals. The display device includes a plurality of pixels with first and second pixels, and an image signal modifier for generating a modified image signal by modifying the input image signal of the first pixel based on the previous image signal of the first pixel and the input image signal of the second pixel. Dynamic capacitance compensation is made for a pixel where the gray variation thereof with respect to the pixels neighboring thereto is low, but over-compensation that is greater than the dynamic capacitance compensation is made for a pixel where the gray variation thereof with respect to the pixel neighbors is high, thereby decreasing the blurring, and preventing the image quality from being deteriorated.

Each set of output image data corresponds to one of the plurality of sets of input image data and have more image data than each set of the input image data. A data driver supplies the pixels with data voltages corresponding to the output image data supplied from the data processor. A set of output grays corresponding to a set of input grays are selected from sets of grays, each set of grays giving an average front transmittance substantially equal to an average front transmittance of the set of input grays. The sets of output grays generate the closest average lateral gamma curve generated by the sets of grays relative to an average front gamma curve generated by the input grays.

    摘要: In a display apparatus, a data driver converts a first group of image data into a first data voltage based on a first gamma reference voltage during a first period and converts a second group of the image data into a second data voltage based on a second gamma reference voltage during the first period. The data driver converts the first group into the second image voltage during a second period and converts the second group into the first data voltage during the second period. First and second pixel groups receive the first and second data voltages to display first and second gray-scale images, respectively, during the first period, and receive the second and first data voltages to display the second and first gray-scale images, respectively, during the second period. Thus, display quality and viewing angle characteristic of the display apparatus are improved and flicker is prevented.
