Abstract:
A plastic encapsulated semiconductor device comprises a die pad, die pad support pins suspending the die pad, a semiconductor chip mounted on the die pad, thin metal wires for connecting the electrode of the semiconductor chip to leads, and a sealing resin sealing the foregoing components, while the respective bottom faces of the leads forming terminal portions are exposed. An upset process is performed with respect to the die pad support pins of a lead frame to form stepped portions such that the die pad is positioned higher in level than the leads. Since the lower portion of the sealing resin also underlies the die pad, enhanced adhesion is achieved between the die pad and the sealing rein, resulting in higher reliability. With the die pad positioned higher in level than the leads, there is no possibility of interference between the leads and the semiconductor chip even when the size of the semiconductor chip is freely changed. This enables the scaling up of a semiconductor chip and increases a packaging density in mounting semiconductor devices on a mother substrate.
Abstract:
In an image forming apparatus for reading a document image and forming the document image on a paper, document image data are divided into a plurality of blocks and the document image data are compressed in the unit of block to be stored in a first memory device. The data read from the first memory device are expanded in the unit of block to be stored in a second memory device. Compression time and expansion time are estimated and image output start time for a printer is set based on the compression and expansion times before expansion of all the blocks is completed. In a different way, the start time is set to read data from a second memory device by a printer for printing, after estimation based on expansion time on data not yet expanded by an expansion device. In a still different way, predetermined form data such as page number are superposed with image data. The form data is drawn first in a page memory device and expanded image data are superposed next in the page memory device. Print is started by taking drawing time of the form data into account.

Abstract:
the present invention provides a force transducer having high compression fracture strength and high detection sensitivity, thus satisfying both detection precision and reliability, and also a method of fabricating such a force transducer. The force transducer is so constructed that a compression force is transferred via a pressure transfer block to narrow strain gages, which protrude from the surface of a silicon substrate and provide a small pressure-bearing area. Therefore, large compression strains act on the strain gages and thus the detection sensitivity is increased. When the compression force exceeds a predetermined value, the pressure transfer block comes into contact with the surface of the silicon crystal, thus improving the fracture strength of the strain gages. These narrow, protruding strain gages can be fabricated easily by a single mesa etching process.

Abstract:
An image processing system includes a client apparatus and a server apparatus. The server apparatus includes an item extraction unit, an item classification unit, and an image selection processing unit. The item extraction unit extracts a prescribed item from a document. The item classification unit classifies the extracted item into any of a plurality of groups. The image selection processing unit generates a display screen displaying each item included in read data in a manner different for each group. A display of the client apparatus displays the generated display screen.

Abstract:
Multiple user boxes are created beforehand in the hard disk drive of the MFP. The user specifies his own user box and saves image data therein. If the user extracts the image data from his user box and moves it to a folder on his own personal computer, the MFP 1 detects this action. When this user box is specified during a subsequent reading of image data, the storage destination for the image data is automatically deemed to be the folder on the personal computer to which the image data was previously moved.
