摘要: An aiming arm can include at least a pair of radiographic markers that define a first radiographic image characteristic when a radiographic image source is not adequately aligned with the aiming arm, and a second desired radiographic image characteristic when the radiographic image source is adequately aligned with the aiming arm. Once the radiographic image source has been aligned with the aiming arm, the position of the aiming arm relative to an underlying implant can be visually inspected to determine whether the aiming arm is aligned with the underlying implant.

摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus for the preparation of a femoral condyle for the insertion of monocondylar knee implants, comprising a spreading device for the setting of a desired spacing between a femoral condyle and an oppositely disposed tibia plateau and comprising at least one functional attachment couplable in a vertically adjustable manner with the spreading device, wherein the spreading device includes a spreading section, which can be introduced between the femoral condyle and the tibia plateau and which extends substantially perpendicular to the spreading direction, and a handling section for the spreading section which includes an angle α>90° with the spreading section (27, 29), and wherein the functional attachment supports a cutting and/or drilling jig and is adjustable at least vertically relative to the spreading device when the desired spacing is set at the handling section by means of the spreading device.

摘要: An aiming plate for orienting tools toward target features of an implant. The aiming plate features a first and a second surface and has a reversible attachment mechanism for attaching to an implant to orientate one of the first and second surfaces to face the implant. The aiming plate also features first and second through holes. The first through hole for receiving a tool extends along a first hole axis from the first surface to the second surface. The second through hole for receiving a tool is positioned adjacent the first through hole and extends along a second hole axis from the first surface to the second surface. The through holes arranged so that the first hole axis is divergent with respect to the second hole axis.

摘要: An intramedullary nail has a scalloped compression slot so as to define a plurality of pockets and intersections between the pockets that are narrower than the pockets. Accordingly, a compression member can be inserted into a bone segment of a fractured bone and into the slot. The compression member can be wider than the intersections. A compression actuator can apply a force against the compression member that causes the compression member to translate across the intersections from pocket-to-pocket until the fracture has been approximated. Because the compression member is wider than the intersections, the compression slot retains the compression member and prevents distraction of the fracture.

摘要: Provided are methods and systems for enlarging a spinal canal of a vertebra. Using the methods and systems disclosed the spinal canal of the vertebra is enlarged by cutting the posterior arch portion of the vertebra to create one or two implant receiving spaces in the posterior arch portion. The cutting of the posterior arch portion is completed through a minimally invasive approach. Once cut, the detached portion of the posterior arch portion is repositioned and an implant is positioned in the implant receiving space of the posterior arch portion to thereby enlarge the spinal canal such that the spinal cord is no longer compressed. The insertion of the implant is also completed through a minimally invasive approach.
