摘要: Intramedullary nails, systems, and methods. The intramedullary nail may include a generally elongate body extending from a first, distal end to a second, proximal end. The distal end may include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the distal end intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the distal end of the nail. The proximal end may also include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the proximal end of the intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the proximal end of the nail. In some embodiments, the proximal end may further include a cross-locking feature, which includes a second bone anchor that interlocks with a first bone anchor, for example, for enhanced bone purchase and bony fixation.

摘要: A humeral nail can include a nail longitudinal axis extending from a proximal portion to a distal portion, a first proximal through bore defining a first screw trajectory, a second proximal through bore defining a second screw trajectory, a third proximal through bore defining a third screw trajectory, a descending through bore defining a descending screw trajectory, and a calcar through bore defining a calcar screw trajectory. The first, second and third screw trajectories extend transverse to the nail longitudinal axis, the descending screw trajectory extends anterior to posterior and proximal to distal, and the calcar screw trajectory extends distal to proximal, anterior to posterior, and lateral to medial. In some examples, the calcar through bore defines at least two calcar screw trajectories.

摘要: A minimally invasive method of correcting a bunion includes performing an osteotomy to divide the metatarsal into first and second portions, implanting a nail in the first portion, securing a suture to the joint capsule, tensioning the suture to align the great toe with the metatarsal, attaching the suture to the nail, and fastening the nail to the second portion. A first guide block includes a plurality of coplanar passages to guide an instrument to create one or more holes in the metatarsal in advance of the osteotomy, and a second guide block includes a guide slot for another instrument to complete the osteotomy. The method can be performed through an incision of 0.5 inches or less. The nail includes an anchor portion for anchoring in the first portion, a head for attachment to a second portion, and can include a passage for attachment of the suture.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for stabilizing a fractured bone. The method includes positioning an elongate rod in the medullary canal of the fractured bone and forming a passageway through the cortex of the bone. The passageway extends from the exterior surface of the bone to the medullary canal of the bone. The method also includes creating a bonding region on the elongate rod. The bonding region is generally aligned with the passageway of the cortex. Furthermore, the method includes positioning a fastener in the passageway of the cortex and on the bonding region of the elongate rod and thermally bonding the fastener to the bonding region of the elongate rod while the fastener is positioned in the passageway of the cortex.

摘要: The invention primarily relates to fastening and stabilizing tissues, implants, and/or bondable materials, such as the fastening of a tissue and/or implant to a bondable material, the fastening of an implant to tissue, and/or the fastening of an implant to another implant. This may involve using an energy source to bond and/or mechanically to stabilize a tissue, an implant, a bondable material, and/or other biocompatible material. The invention may also relate to the use of an energy source to remove and/or install an implant and/or bondable material or to facilitate solidification and/or polymerization of bondable material.

摘要: Assemblies and methods for fixation of bone or bone fragments using an orthopedic plate, a modular peg, and a compression screw. The modular peg is screwed into one of the apertures of the orthopedic plate. The modular peg may include an aperture having screw threads designed to receive the threads of the compression screw and serve as an anchor for the compression screw. By rotating the compression screw in relation to the modular peg, the compression screw may advance through the aperture of the modular peg, drawing the head of the screw toward the modular peg, and compressing the bone or bone fragments.

摘要: In one aspect, an implant configured to attach a first bone section to a second bone section comprises an intramedullary portion and an extramedullary portion. The intramedullary portion is configured for insertion into the first bone section. The ex-tramedullary portion is configured to abut a surface of the second bone section and includes a first fastener aperture configured to eceive a bone fastener inserted in the second bone section. The intramedullary portion and the extramedullary portion are coupled such that the extramedullary portion is rotatable with respect to the intramedullary portion.

摘要: Systems and related methods for changing the angle of a bone of a subject is provided by the present disclosure. The system may include a non-invasively adjustable implant configured to be placed inside a cavity within the bone. The non-invasively adjustable implant may couple to a first portion of bone and a second portion of bone that is separated or separable from the first portion of bone, such that non-invasive elongation of the adjustable implant causes movement of the first portion of bone and the second portion of bone apart angularly. The system may include an anchor configured to couple the non-invasively adjustable implant to bone. The non-invasively adjustable implant may include an anchor hole configured to receive the anchor therein.
