    摘要: A pigment ink for ink-jet recording comprises a pigment, a polyethylene oxide-containing dispersing agent, a water-soluble organic solvent, polyethylene oxide, and water. In place of polyethylene oxide, it is possible to use a water-soluble compound having a structure in which two or three hydroxyl groups are joined to a hydrocarbon having a number of carbons of 4 to 6. The ink does not cause any head clogging, and it is excellent in printing quality.

    摘要: In a membrane electrode assembly of the present invention, at least one of a catalyst layer of an oxygen electrode and a catalyst layer of a fuel electrode includes a supported catalyst supporting a metal catalyst containing a platinum group element, a proton conductive polymer electrolyte, and at least one selected from (a) a complex-forming agent having a ligand that forms coordinate bonds with ions of the platinum group element and forms a complex, the ligand containing oxygen as a coordinating atom, (b) a complex of the platinum group element, a ligand of the complex containing oxygen as a coordinating atom, and (c) carbon that has a BET specific surface area of 100 m2/g or greater, satisfies at least one of (i) an R value of Raman spectrum of 0.5 or less and (ii) a lattice spacing d002 between (002) planes of 0.35 nm or less, and does not support the metal catalyst. With the use of the membrane electrode assembly of the present invention, it is possible to provide a polymer electrolyte fuel cell that has high durability and a long service life.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a pigmented ink, in particular, an ink suitable for an ink-jet printing method comprising jet of ink droplets from a print head. More particularly, it relates to a pigmented ink excellent in the dispersibility and dispersion stability of pigment particles, storage stability, etc. There is provided a pigmented ink which comprises (1) an organic pigment having a surface made hydrophobic by adsorption thereon or binding thereto of an organic substance, (2) an amphiphilic compound composed of a poly(ethylene oxide) as a hydrophilic portion and an alkyl group and/or an aromatic group as a hydrophobic portion, and (3) water, and is excellent in the dispersion stability of pigment particles and storage stability by virtue of the above composition.
