    摘要: An apparatus detects an area specified based on a mark of a specific color out of three primary colors in pigment or three primary colors in light from an image. An other-color-information eliminating unit eliminates information of other colors from a tone level of the specific color by correcting the tone level of the specific color based on tone levels of two colors other than the specific color out of the three primary colors in pigment or the three primary colors in light. An area detecting unit detects the area by specifying the mark based on the tone level from which the information of other colors is eliminated.

    摘要: An image reading apparatus is attached to the top of a PDA. During the image reading operation, an operation state control signal is output from the image reading apparatus to the PDA. According to the signal, the intensity of an input display unit not required during the operation can be reduced. Additionally, the power supply or the supply of a signal not required during the operation is stopped. Furthermore, an LED of the PDA issues a notification of an operation state by lighting, blinking, or turning-off. When the input display unit displays an image, an erect image and an inverted image are appropriately switched depending on the operation state. During an image reading operation, input by input buttons and a touch panel of the input display unit are nullified to avoid the occurrence of a malfunction.

    摘要: An image compression divides an input image into blocks having the predetermined number of horizontal and longitudinal pixels, and scans the divided blocks in a main scan direction and a sub scan direction so as to select them in order as a processing block, and selects as a reference block a block in which positional relation with the selected block and a relation of a pixel value satisfies a predetermined condition. Subsequently, the pixel values of the processing block and the reference block are subjected to an exclusive-OR (XOR) so as to generate a differential image, and in case the differential image satisfies the predetermined condition, the processing block is replaced with the differential image. Further, the image including the differential image obtained by executing the block replacement in the processing block is encoded, and the code data obtained by executing this image encoding, the presence or absence of replacement with the differential image of each processing block obtained by executing the block replacement, and positional information of the reference block are combined and outputted. The image decoding is executed in such way that the image including the differential image from the code data is decoded, and this decoded image is decoded into the original image by an exclusive-OR with the processing block which is divided into blocks and the reference block.

Therefore, a threshold value can be generated based on the features of an image to be read, an optimal threshold value can be obtained depending on a medium and, as a result, a correct binarization process is available.

    摘要: A fusion apparatus is equipped with a fuse, a solid combustion agent, an igniting device, and a spring. The solid combustion agent and the igniting device are accommodated within an inner casing. The inner casing is disposed in the vicinity of, or in contact with, the fuse. The inner casing and the fuse are covered by an outer casing. The spring is disposed between the outer casing and the inner casing and urges the inner casing containing the solid combustion agent therein toward the fuse. When the igniting device receives a current supplied from the outside, the solid combustion agent is combusted by the ignition made by the igniting device and the resulting combustion heat softens the fuse. At this time, since the inner casing is pressing the fuse by means of the spring, the fuse is easily broken.
