    摘要: An optical scanning apparatus includes an optical box having a top surface that is constituted by a single lid. A first surface of the top surface is disposed closer to a rotary polygon mirror than a second surface and is disposed closer to a bottom surface of the optical box than an edge portion of a light deflector positioned farthest from the bottom surface. A third surface of a convex portion of the top surface is positioned farther from the bottom surface than the first surface. A lower edge portion of the convex portion is disposed outside a circumscribed circle of the rotary polygon mirror.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a light source, an optical deflector, an optical deflector casing, a bearing, and a sound absorption unit. The optical deflector reflects and deflects an optical beam emitted from the light source, having a rotational reflection member disposed on a rotation shaft to perform optical scanning. The optical deflector casing seals a space in which the optical deflector. The bearing rotatably supports the rotation shaft of the rotational reflection member with respect to the optical deflector casing, and includes at least portion exposed to an external space outside the sealed space of the optical deflector casing. The sound absorption unit is disposed opposite the exposed portion of the bearing with the external space therebetween.

    摘要: A laser scanning unit includes a scanning lens, a control portion, and a storage portion. The control portion controls a light amount of a light beam emitted from a light source. The storage portion stores therein aberration characteristics representing a relationship between image heights of the scanning lens and a wavefront aberration amount, which have been obtained in advance. The control portion, when the scanning is performed, controls the light amount of the light beam in accordance with the aberration characteristics, such that the light amount is set to a predetermined first light amount, at a point of a first image height where the wavefront aberration amount has a first value, and the light amount is set to a second light amount larger than the first light amount, at a point of a second image height where the wavefront aberration amount has a second value larger than the first value.
