摘要: A linear electrochemical actuator is described where at least one electrically conductive (between 400 and 1000 S/cm), doped polyaniline solid fiber or a yarn produced from such fibers is disposed in an electrolyte inside of a electrically conductive polyaniline hollow fiber, thereby allowing 2-electrode operation without a metal backing. This is an example of the electrochemical devices of the present invention having a solid-in-hollow polymer fiber configuration. In a propylene carbonate electrolyte, the electrochemical and actuation behavior of the fibers was found to be influenced by the solubility and size of the polymer dopants. That is, solubility of the dopant in the electrolyte resulted in high electroactivity and strain in the fibers. Actuation of fibers was also affected by electrolyte anions, small anions resulting in anion-exchange dominated actuation, while large anions resulted in cation-exchange dominated actuation. Isotonic strains of 0.9% and isometric stresses of 0.9 MPa were realized for the solid-in-hollow polyaniline fiber actuators.

摘要: A method facilitates extending the useful life of a turbine engine including a combustor and a turbine downstream from and in flow communication with the combustor. The method comprises identifying at least a portion of the combustor that is at least one of distressed, worn, deteriorated, satisfied pre-determined threshold data, and beyond serviceable limits, identifying at least one enhancement kit for installation within the combustor, and removing at least two portions of the combustor including at least two of a combustor dome assembly, a swirler/cowl assembly, and the combustor inner and outer liners. The method also comprises installing the enhancement kit within the turbine engine such that a useful life of the turbine engine is facilitated to be increased.

摘要: A device for adjusting the position of a printer head of a barcode printer includes a casing mounted to the barcode printer and a base movably coupled to the casing. A slide board is slidably supported on the base and carries the printer head. A first adjuster is arranged between the slide board and the base to selectively move and thus adjust the position of the printer head in the longitudinal direction. A second adjuster couples the first adjuster to the base to selectively move the slide board on the base in the transverse direction, which in turn adjusts the transverse position of the printer head. A third adjuster couples the base to the casing to selectively move the base with respect to the casing and thus adjust the position of the printer head in the vertical direction. Thus, the position of the printer head can be adjusted in the longitudinal, transverse, and vertical directions, which allows a user to do precise adjustment of the printer head with respect to a printing medium on which a barcode is to be printed by the barcode printer.
