Abstract:
A sealed battery has an outer can having an opening and functioning as an electrode terminal, a sealing member fitted in the opening of the outer can and functioning as an electrode terminal which is different in polarity from the outer can, and a spiral-wound electrode assembly contained in the outer can. The spiral-wound electrode assembly includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator wound together spirally, in which the electrodes are separated by the separator and the outermost coil of the separator forms the outer circumferential face of the spiral-wound electrode assembly. A substrate included in the positive or negative electrode which is adjacent to the outermost coil of the separator has an exposed portion, which projects in the axial direction of the spiral-wound electrode assembly beyond the outermost coil of the separator and is in direct contact with the inner face of the outer can.
Abstract:
A telescopic shaft for steering of a vehicle is assembled in a steering shaft and includes a male shaft and a female shaft that are so fitted as not to be rotatable but to be slidable. Rolling members are fitted through an elastic body for pre-load between at least a pair of axially-extending grooves formed in an outer peripheral surface of the male shaft and in an inner peripheral surface of the female shaft. A slide member is fitted in between at least another pair of axially-extending grooves formed in the outer peripheral surface of the male shaft and in the inner peripheral surface of the female shaft. When a steering toque is equal to or smaller than a predetermined level, the elastic body for the pre-load exhibits a low rigidity characteristic as the elastic body performs pre-load action. When the steering torque is equal to or larger than the predetermined level, the slide member exhibits a high rigidity characteristic as the slide member engages with the pair of axially extending grooves.
Abstract:
A collapsible steering column assembly has an arrangement to absorb energy upon steering column collapse. In a preferred form, the arrangement includes a skid member acting to deform a length of wire having arms to embrace at least one retaining pin. The or each pin is selectively extendable and retractable in order to vary the energy absorption capability.

Abstract:
A image stabilization control circuit for an image capturing device, wherein a gyro-equalizer (24) integrates an angular velocity signal from a gyro-sensor (12) in an integration circuit (46). The integration circuit (46) is composed of a low-boost filter (LBF), and a phase delay in a target compensation region is set to a value appropriate for an integration process. Furthermore, a characteristic whereby the LBF reduces the phase delay at higher frequencies is used, compensation is applied to the excess phase delay of the angular signal in the high-frequency region brought about by the effect of the phase delay generated in the high-frequency region by the output signal of the gyro-sensor (12), and the phase delay in the high-frequency region is brought nearer to 90 degrees. This allows the accuracy of the process for determining the required displacement magnitude of a lens to be increased.
Abstract:
A telescopic shaft used for steering of a vehicle to be used in the steering shaft of a vehicle has a male shaft and a female shaft that are fitted to each other non-rotatably and slidably. The telescopic shaft is provided with at least one set of torque transmission members disposed in at least one set of intermediate fitting portions formed on the outer circumferential surface of the male shaft and the inner circumferential shaft of the female shaft and a stopper plate for regulating movement of the at least one set of torque transmission members with respect to the axial direction.
Abstract:
The invention provides a telescopic shaft including a male shaft and a female shaft which are so fitted as to be capable of a sliding motion but incapable of a rotation and in which an external periphery of the male shaft and an internal periphery of the female shaft are in contact with each other to transmit a torque in case of rotation, wherein a grease, containing a base oil having a dynamic viscosity of from 10 to 210 mm2/s at 25° C. and an extreme pressure additive, is sealed in a gap between the external periphery of the male shaft and the internal periphery of the female shaft. The construction enables a satisfactory torque transmission without detrimentally influencing the feeling of steering.
