摘要: To provide a lubricating oil composition that has good detergency irrespective of the small sulfated ash content thereof, and has a good friction reducing capability even after the deterioration thereof. The lubricating oil composition contains a base oil (A), a non-metal-containing sulfur antioxidant (B), and a hindered amine antioxidant (C) having one piperidine-derived skeleton in a molecule, and has a content of the non-metal-containing sulfur antioxidant (B) as converted in terms of sulfur atom of 800 ppm by mass or more based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition, a content of the hindered amine antioxidant (C) as converted in terms of nitrogen atom of 100 ppm by mass or more and 400 ppm by mass or less based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition, a sulfated ash content of 0.70% by mass or less, and a total base number of 4.0 mgKOH/g or more.

摘要: Combining a metal based friction modifier, such as a molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, and certain esters of hydroxy carboxylic acids, such as short chain alkyl esters of citric or tartaric acid, e.g., tributyl citrate, has a synergistic effect on lowering the friction coefficient of lubricating oils allowing one to reduce the amount of metal based friction modifier needed to adequately formulate a lubricant with low friction characteristics.

摘要: Provided is a lubricating oil for electric and hybrid vehicles. The lubricating oil has a composition including at least 80 wt % of a lubricating base oil, from 0.8 to 5 wt % of one or more metal detergents, from 0 to 5 wt % of one or more dispersants, from 0 to 1.5 wt % of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate antiwear agent, from 0 to 0.2 wt % of a molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, from 0 to 2 wt % of a viscosity modifier based on active ingredient, and from 0.01 to 5 wt % of other lubricating oil additives. The lubricating oil has an electrical conductivity from 3,000 to 20,000 pS/m, and kinematic viscosity from 2 to 20 cSt at 100° C. This disclosure also relates to methods for producing the lubricating oil, methods for lubricating electric and hybrid vehicles, and methods for controlling electrical conductivity of a lubricating oil by using conductivity promoters and conductivity inhibitors.

摘要: Provided is a lubricating oil for electric and hybrid vehicles. The lubricating oil includes at least 80 wt % of a lubricating base oil, 0.5 to 5 wt % of one or more dispersants, 0 to 4 wt % of one or more neutral metal detergents, 0 to 1.5 wt % of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, 0 to 0.2 wt % of molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, 0 to 2 wt % of an active viscosity modifier, and 0.01 to 5 wt % of one or more other lubricating oil additives. The lubricating oil is essentially free of overbased metal detergents. The lubricating oil has an electrical conductivity from 50 to 3,000 pS/m and a kinematic viscosity from 2 to 20 cSt at 100° C. This disclosure also relates to methods for producing the lubricating oil, methods for lubricating electric and hybrid vehicles, and methods for controlling electrical conductivity of a lubricating oil by using conductivity promoters and conductivity inhibitors.

摘要: Provided is a lubricating oil composition to be used in an internal combustion engine having a sliding mechanism including a piston ring and a liner, the lubricating oil composition including: a base oil; (A) a poly(meth)acrylate; and (B) an organic molybdenum compound, in which: (A) the poly(meth)acrylate contains a polymer (A1) including a repeating unit derived from a (meth)acrylate represented by the following formula (1) and having a mass-average molecular weight of from 1,000 to 500,000; and a content of (B) the organic molybdenum compound in a total amount of the composition is from 0.01 mass % to 0.2 mass % in terms of a molybdenum atom: wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and X represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 60 carbon atoms, or a functional group-containing hydrocarbon group having 1 to 60 carbon atoms.

摘要: The lubricant composition of this invention comprises a base oil and an additive, which is at least one selected from the group consisting of an organic sulfonate, a carboxylate, a thiocarbamate and a thiophosphoric acid ester salt. The lubricant composition can effectively suppress hydrogen embrittlement-caused flaking of an element, such as a rolling bearing, a sliding bearing, a gear, a ball thread, a linear guide, a linear bearing, a cam and various joints in a high concentration hydrogen environment. The invention provides also a rolling bearing, a sliding bearing, a gear, a ball thread, a linear guide, a linear bearing, a cam and various joints using the lubricant composition.
