Abstract:
An electric measuring apparatus is constructed in such a way as to include a signal processing circuit equipped with at least a polarized light separating unit, Faraday rotators, a light source, a photoelectric conversion element, and optical fibers for a sensor. The optical fibers for the sensor are placed around the periphery of an electrical conductor through which electric current to be measured flows. Furthermore, the rotation angle of each Faraday rotator at the time when the magnetism of each Faraday rotator is saturated is set to 22.5°+α° at a temperature of 23° C., thereby changing the rotation angle of each Faraday rotator by α° from 22.5°.
Abstract:
Provided is a reflective optical circulator capable of improving characteristics by preventing the occurrence of PDL and non-uniformity of insertion losses of reciprocating optical paths. The reflective optical circulator includes: an optical element unit having a first polarization separating element, a 45° non-reciprocal polarization plane rotating element, a phase element for rotating a polarization plane of an incident light by 90°, and a second polarization separating element; a light incidence/emission unit; a lens; and a reflector. All waveguides are disposed at an equivalent distance from a central point, and a shift amount of an extraordinary ray in the second polarization separating element is set to be larger than a shift amount of an extraordinary ray in the first polarization separating element. In addition, the phase element is constructed with two phase optical elements, and only one polarization component is allowed to transmit through the two phase optical elements. In addition, a size of the second polarization separating element is set so that light transmits through only one path of reciprocating optical paths, and the two polarization components are reflected by the reflector with a point symmetry, and a light in the forward direction is set to be incident to the second polarization separating element before being reflected.
Abstract:
A simple-structure, small-size, inexpensive optical isolator mounted in an amplifier. The PMD and PDL are reduced to desired numerical levels to improve the characteristics. The optical isolator is composed of two double refraction elements, a 45 DEG Faraday rotator, a magnet, a lens, and a total reflection member. The directions of crystal axes of the two double refraction elements and the direction of the rotation of the Faraday rotator are appropriately set. Therefore, going-returning optical paths where incident unpolarized light is separated into ordinary light and extraordinary light, totally reflected by a total reflection member, and outputted are formed. The direction of the crystal axis with respect to the direction of the normal on the element surface of either of the two double refraction elements and the thickness in the direction of the normal on the element surface are corrected.

An apparatus that edits a test pattern used in a circuit function test includes a generator that generates a regular pattern that includes a plurality of unit patterns, by inserting a redundant pattern into a test pattern, and a pattern number reduction editor that defines the regular pattern as one unit pattern in the circuit function test.
Abstract:
Transgenic plants that are modified to produce fruits that have altered levels of soluble solids compared to non-transgenic plants of the same species are provided. The transgenic plants are prepared by introducing into plants DNA constructs that encode invertase operatively linked to DNA encoding regulatory regions that direct transcription of the DNA encoding invertase and operatively linked to DNA encoding amino acids that direct proper processing of the invertase through the secretory pathways of the plant and targeting of the invertase to the vacuole. In particular, DNA constructs encoding tomato plant vacuolar invertase in operative linkage with a developmentally regulated promoter region are provided. Preferred regulatory and structural DNA is obtained from genomic DNA clones and cDNA clones encoding tomato fruit vacuolar invertases from the commercial tomato plant, Lycopersicon esculentum, and wild tomato plant, Lycopersicon pimpinellifolium.Probes derived from the genomic DNA and cDNA, antibodies specific for tomato fruit invertase, and uses therefor, are also provided.
Abstract:
A fuel injection control apparatus for an internal combustion engine capable of making correctly or properly decision as to acceleration and deceleration of engine without fail on the basis of magnitude of change in the intake air quantity while excluding erroneous deceleration or acceleration decision due to overshoot or undershoot in the intake air quantity to thereby allow the exhaust gas air-fuel ratio to be maintained at least close to a stoichiometric ratio. The apparatus includes an electronic control unit comprised of a throttle-acceleration decision module, a fuel injection decreasing module and a fuel injection increasing module. When acceleration is determined by the throttle-acceleration decision module, a deceleration decision reference value used by the fuel injection decreasing module is set to a value greater than a normal value for a predetermined period after the decision of acceleration, while when deceleration is determined, an acceleration decision reference value for the fuel injection increasing module is set to a value greater than a normal value for a predetermined period after the decision of deceleration. The acceleration decision reference value and the deceleration reference value are compared with magnitude of change in the amount of intake air by the fuel increasing module and the fuel decreasing means for deciding the acceleration and the deceleration, respectively.
