    摘要: A TV microcomputer makes a request to a wireless center microcomputer through a SS transmitting/receiving unit in a TV main unit and a SS transmitting/receiving unit in a wireless center, and the wireless center microcomputer sends a response for notifying reception of the request command to the TV microcomputer through the SS transmitting/receiving unit in the wireless center and the SS transmitting/receiving unit in the TV main unit. The TV microcomputer processes the received request for an auto scan, and transmits channel identification information for setting a channel, which includes skip information indicative of whether or not a station for the channel exists, to the TV microcomputer as a response for notifying completion of the process. The channel identification information is stored in the TV main unit. Further, when an up-down channel selection is performed, the channel identification information is referred to identify a selected channel, and the identified channel is transmitted to the wireless center as a direct channel selection command. This reduces a delay time involved in the exchange of commands.

    摘要: An active matrix liquid crystal display panel by which a good display characteristic can be obtained without suffering from gradation reversal over a wide visibility angle range. A liquid crystal layer 4 is formed such that the thickness thereof varies in accordance with transmission wavelengths of color layers 6, 7 and 8 so that a very good display which does not exhibit any coloring in whichever direction it is viewed may be obtained.An active matrix substrate A includes a plurality of opposing electrodes 2, a plurality of pixel electrodes 3 parallel to the opposing electrodes 2, a thin film transistor, and an orientation film 23 all formed on a glass substrate 10. A color filter substrate C includes an orientation film 56 provided on one surface of another glass substrate 10 and an optical compensation layer 35 provided on the other surface of the glass substrate 10 and formed from a plastic film. The two substrates are disposed such that the orientation films thereof oppose each other, and polarization plates 34 and 5 are disposed on the outer sides of the two substrates, and a liquid crystal layer 4 having a positive refractive index anisotropy is provided between the orientation films 23. The optical compensation layer 35 has a negative one axial refractive index anisotropy and can cancel a retardation produced in the liquid crystal layer 4 thereby to suppress white floating of a black display portion.

    摘要: An in-plane switching type liquid crystal display device includes (a) a first substrate on which a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines are formed such that the gate lines are substantially perpendicular to the data lines, and on which at least one pixel electrode and at least one common electrode are alternately formed in each of pixels defined by the gate and data lines, (b) a second substrate facing the first substrate, and (c) a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first and second substrates, wherein when a voltage is applied across the pixel electrode and the common electrode, liquid crystal existing on extensions of the data lines are caused to rotate in a plane substantially in parallel with the first substrate. Both the pixel electrode and the common electrode have at least one bending point at which the pixel electrode and the common electrode bend, and are designed to bend such that both an intensity and a direction of a field generated by the voltage successively vary.

    摘要: In a liquid crystal display device of a lateral electric field driving system, coloring problem in display is prevented in all the white, intermediate tone and the black display mode. In this liquid crystal display device: one of an incident side polarizing plate and an exit side polarizing plate has its polarizing axis substantially coincide with the direction of the orientation of a liquid crystal layer; an optical compensating layer is interposed between at least one of transparent substrates and the incident side polarizing plate or the exit side polarizing plate both disposed outside the at least one of the transparent substrates, the optical compensating layer having a refractive index anisotropy with the other polarity other than that in the refractive index of the liquid crystal layer; and, the optical compensating layer has the direction of its anisotropy axis substantially coincide with the direction of the orientation of the liquid crystal layer, provided that the orientation direction includes a predetermined pre-tilt angle.
