    Abstract: The present invention concerns a braking system for electric step motors, which step motors operate in conjunction with a light assembly comprising a moving head for pan or tilt of the light assembly or operating in the lamp for moving internal optical components, which step motors during operation are connected to driving means. It is the scope of the invention to reduce the speed of movement of moving head light fixtures during a power down. This can be achieved if the step motors are connected through switches, which switches in a first position during operation connect the driving means to the step motors, where at a power down, the switches change to a second position, in which second position the switches establish a current path through at least one motor winding. It is hereby achieved that all movements after power down of the moving head as well as internal movement take place very slowly and without generating noise. This is important if a light fixture for example used in a theatre where this lamp occasionally may be switched off maybe because a fuse burns out, the lamp will stop the operation without making any noise that disturbs the theatre. Also at a controlled power down where several lamp fixtures are placed side by side, it is very noisy if all these lamps at the same time moves to a stop position.

    Abstract: Lighting apparatus includes an effect wheel which is mounted on a rotation mechanism. The rotation mechanism is mounted on a mechanism which moves the effect wheel from a position outside of the light path to a position in which the effect wheel intersects the light path to provide a continuous wheel effect. The translation mechanism can move the effect wheel between positions in which the effect wheel crosses the light path in a horizontal direction and in a vertical direction, respectively. The apparatus allows a continuous wheel effect to be added to a multi-purpose luminaire and also allows the direction of travel of the continuous wheel effect across the illuminated field to be continuously varied.

    Abstract: For installing a fiber optic cable in a lighting unit for illumination purposes it is suitable to insert the end of the fiber bundle to a position where the end of the bundle is illuminated by the full cross section of a conical light beam, whereby it is also possible to operate with bundles of different diameters. For this purpose, the invention provides for a technique enabling a standard cable holder to be used in a highly qualified manner for different cables, with both a firm fixation of the cable end and a high finish thereof. A very accurate positioning of the cable end in the light beam is achievable without particularly high accuracy requirements in the adaptation of the holder to the specific diameter of the cable.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an illumination device comprising a number of light sources generating light and a number of light collecting means adapted to collect the generated light and to convert the collected light into a number of light beams that propagate along an optical axis.     Abstract: An illumination device with a number of light sources arranged in at least two groups of light sources that are individually controllable. The first group of light sources (203) have light collectors (209) such as internal reflection (TIR) lenses, mixers or other lenses placed over them to collect and convert light of the light sources into a number of light source beams. The second group of light sources (205) pass light through diffusing areas (215) of a diffuser (213) in the form of a diffusion cover included in the lamp housing to diffuse the light and create a background light for the first group of light sources. The light from the first group of light sources pass through non diffusing regions (211) of the diffuser cover without the light being diffused. The second group of light sources are interleaved with the first group by the diffuser having one or several diffusion areas between non diffusion areas. By controlling both groups of light sources based on the same target color the dotted look of led light sources can be removed or by controlling the two groups of light sources based on two different colors light effects can be obtained. The illumination device can be included in a moving head light source with a base, a yoke connected rotatably to the base and the head connected rotatably to the head.
