Abstract:
A dual water heating system uses a pump for pumping water from a swimming pool or spa. A filter is coupled to an output of the pump for filtering the water. A water heater heats the water and returns heated water to the swimming pool or spa. A network of non-corrosive piping is disposed within the swimming pool support structure. A plurality of steam ports are coupled to exit points of the network of piping. A steam generator provides steam to the network of piping for transporting the steam to the steam ports and injecting the heated water into the swimming pool or spa. An energy source supplies energy to the steam heater. A motorized or hand-push cart is used to transport the steam heater and energy source. The steam ports are provided along sidewalls or bottom surface of the swimming pool and spa support structure. The steam ports are contained within cavities formed in the support structure.

An apparatus for generating a stream of steam for direction against an area of skin of a person includes a water vessel for retaining a quantity of water, the vessel having an upright tubular vessel side wall and a vessel bottom wall and a vessel mounting structure, and a water heating mechanism mounted outside and in thermal proximity to the vessel including a heating element and a power source connection structure for generating heat for transfer into the water vessel to heat the quantity of water sufficiently to progressively transform the quantity of water into a stream of steam; a steam guidance framework including a vessel cover structure having a structure upper surface and a structure lower surface, a vessel engaging structure for suspending the vessel from the vessel cover structure, the vessel cover structure having a steam port over the water vessel for passing a stream of steam from the water vessel; a steam delivery tube including a steam delivery tube receiving end and a steam delivery tube discharge end, the steam delivery tube receiving end being sealingly affixed to the structure upper surface and positioned to enclose the steam port, the steam delivery tube protruding from the structure upper surface to the delivery tube discharge end, the delivery tube discharge end including a steam discharge port for orientation toward a selected area of the skin of a person to direct the stream of steam against the selected area of skin.

A method for administering a full-body mist bath, as well as a full-body mist-bath unit, having a bathing cubicle for accommodating at least one person and atomized liquid. A liquid atomizer is provided with a high-pressure chamber in which the liquid is compressed by the action of a high pressure to prepare the atomized liquid. A nozzle is provided for explosive ejection of the compressed liquid subjected to high pressure, so that it bursts apart into small particles. In the process, the particles become positively charged and their photon emission is increased.

A sauna device, which achieves the above object and can produce a sauna effect even at low temperatures, includes: a heating device installed on a ceiling surface of a sauna chamber, the heating device including a flat-plate heating body having a heat radiating surface, a suction port on one side of the heating body, a supply port on the other side, and a duct-shaped air heating chamber formed at the back of the heating body; wherein hot air heated in the air heating chamber is blown out of the supply port down to near a floor surface where it is reversed and circulated in the sauna chamber to be drawn into the suction port for reheating; wherein a heat radiating area of the heating device for radiating heat into the sauna chamber is about 30-70% of the area of the ceiling surface of the sauna chamber, and the hot air blown from the supply port has a velocity enough to be able to come close to the floor surface of the sauna chamber.

Steam generating apparatus in the form of a thin, compact generally self-contained wall-mountable fixture. The fixture includes an upright front face section of porcelain or the like for being mounted in the wall of a shower or other enclosed steam room. The fixture further includes a frame that is fixed to the rear of the face section and supports a closed steam tank or boiler. A steam line delivers live steam from the boiler into the steam room. An steam head delivers the steam safely and with minimum noise. The fixture may also include a mirror and be mounted so that the mirror is face height of a standing user. The mirror is positioned adjacent to the boiler so that heat radiated from the boiler warms the mirror and inhibits it becoming fogged over by the steam in the room. The fixture also includes an electrical control system that is operable by the user from inside the steam room. The control system automatically maintains the user-preselected steam room temperature by regulating the power to the boiler so that steam is generated without interruption and after equilibrium is reached there are no noticeable changes in the room temperature.

A humidifier for use in a sauna stove includes a high vessel open at the top, forming storage for water to be vaporized. The humidifier is placed in the stone space, or similar heating space, of the sauna stove. When in use, the heat from the heat source vaporizes the water in the vessel, to spread steam to the sauna room. The humidifier includes at least one cup placed on top of the high vessel, in which there is a channel to lead the steam from the lower vessel through the cup to the sauna room.

The nozzle make up part of a programmable automatic flow adjusting system for selectively varying the direction and speed of the steam flowing out therefrom.

A heating apparatus comprises a closed vessel having thermally conducting walls and containing a gas that is heated by one or more electrical heating elements in the vessel. The vessel is received in a duct through which air is blown. The air is heated by the heat transferred to the vessel walls by the gas in the vessel. Pressure and thermostatic switches in the circuit of the heating element communicate with the gas in the vessel and provide a double-safety, over-temperature power shut-off. The heating apparatus may be used to blow hot air into water in a tub through hoses leading to inlet openings or to an air distribution mat placed in the tub. The bubbles of hot air heat the water and produce strong agitation. A special raft receives the air distribution mat, which heats water in the raft by bubbling hot air through it. The heating apparatus can also be used for space heating, warming and drying towels and clothes, hair drying and grooming animals.

A portable apparatus for generating vapor for a facial sauna includes a housing enclosing a vented liquid storage tank having an inlet for receiving liquid to be vaporized and an outlet. An electrically heated vapor generator is located in the housing and receives liquid from the tank outlet through an electrically operated diaphragm pump for producing vapor which is discharged from an vapor outlet in the housing. The housing includes an elastic wall portion immediately adjacent and confronting the diaphragm operating armature of the pump. The elastic housing portion is manually displaceable inwardly of the housing for displacement of the pump diaphragm by the armature to prime the pump. An adjustable control is provided for regulating the pumping rate of the pump. The vapor generator is provided with anti-sputter baffles to prevent liquid droplets from being discharged with the vapor.
