摘要: Systems, methods and devices for utilizing heat transfer parameters or energy expenditure of devices providing controlled hypothermia, normothermia or hyperthermia to detect changes, or the absence of changes, a patient's endogenous set-point temperature; which is not available during exogenously induced targeted temperature management. A particular embodiment would allow detection of fever in patients undergoing targeted temperature managed.

摘要: Devices for therapeutic interaction with an Abreu brain thermal tunnel (ABTT) terminus. Such devices provide heat to or remove heat from the ABTT terminus, and may also provide heat to or remove heat from veins connected to the ABTT. Therapeutic devices for engaging with the ABTT terminus benefit from diagnostics obtained at the ABTT terminus, or from other locations on the body.

摘要: A system of networked wearable patches includes a plurality of wearable patches each of which includes a stretchable and permeable substrate, a first sensing unit mounted in the stretchable and permeable substrate, the sensing unit that can conduct a first measurement of a user to produce a first measurement signal, and an antenna over the stretchable and permeable substrate and in electric communication with the first sensing unit. The antenna can wirelessly transmit measurement data based on the first measurement signal. A wireless control device includes a measurement controller that can wirelessly transmit a measurement control signal to the antenna, wherein the first sensing unit is configured to conduct the first measurement in response to the measurement control signal. The wireless control device can wirelessly receive the measurement data from the antenna.

摘要: A heating mat that, by making use of a multilayered structure, is able to provide therapeutic benefits to a user. The heating mat has a waterproof base layer, a heating layer, PEMF emitters, and a primary therapeutic layer. The primary therapeutic layer uses therapeutic stones and a stone harness to maintain the therapeutic stones in a position that facilitates treatment. The waterproof base layer is a water-impervious membrane that prevents external fluids from damaging the electronic components of the heating mat. The heating layer functions as a flexible heating element for the heating mat and is mounted across the waterproof base layer. The PEMF emitters are devices which generate pulses of EM energy that are known to have therapeutic properties. The PEMF emitters are mounted in between the waterproof base and the heating layer. The primary therapeutic layer is mounted across the heating layer, opposite to the waterproof base layer.

摘要: A system for a closed circuit forced hot air warmer of patient beds and blankets with improved sterility has a patient mattress or blanket microprocessor controlled warmer that circulates heated air in a closed system without releasing warmed air into the area surrounding the patient or into the operating room. The system helps to avoid the exposure of patients and hospital workers in the operating room to possible infecting microbes carried in unsterile turbulent air currents related to the release of air from non-closed systems. The machinery and flexible hoses of the system are initially sterilized by a microprocessor controlled antimicrobial mist generator. The system does not discharge jets of warmed air due to the closed circuit arrangement. Turbulent air flow previously produced in the vicinity of the patient by high velocity air jets is eliminated. An ambient, quiescent condition accorded by closed circuit heating prevents infection of patients and operating room personnel by microbe migration.

摘要: An artificial hypothalamus system for regulating body temperature for a human can include monitoring data from a plurality of sensors. The sensor data can be used in a control system to optimize temperature regulation in real time through a feedback loop. The feedback loop can include monitoring the sensor data, evaluating a predetermined set of fuzzy rules using the data, and combining the output of the fuzzy rules to produce a precise value. The precise value can correspond to an output level for various temperature regulation devices, and a signal can be transmitted based on the precise value to activate the temperature regulation devices to a corresponding level of output.

摘要: A multi-layered therapy pad is provided having a comfortable and supportive structure that houses heat therapy and electrotherapy means for treating back injuries and sores while an individual lies thereon. The pad comprises a first and second outermost layer of low-resilience polyurethane foam sandwiching an internal layer of higher density foam, which also supports electrical connections between the therapy controller, the power source, and the two therapy means within the pad. The electrotherapy means comprises static or tethered electrodes that apply pulsing electric current directly onto the user's back for stimulation and easing of back pain, while the heat therapy is applied using a resistance heating element within the pad, which heats a majority of the pad for applying heat to the user's back. The operation of the therapy means is controlled by an external controller, while power in received through an external source or an internal battery pack.
