Abstract: A double membrane pump having a casing and a piston rod movably received in the casing, the casing having at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening, and a first membrane is arranged at one end of the piston rod and a second membrane is arranged at the other end of the piston rod. The first membrane is arranged in a first chamber of the double membrane pump and the second membrane is arranged in a second chamber. The membranes are designed to separate the chambers into a product chamber and an expansion chamber respectively. The pump has a drive device for bringing about a translational movement of the piston rod. The double membrane pump has a piston rod which is designed to perform a self-regulated, oscillating movement and thus enables simplified control of the membranes.

Abstract: A rolling diaphragm pump includes a housing, a rolling diaphragm, a piston, a motor, and a ball screw. Rotational motion of the motor is converted into linear motion by the ball screw to cause the piston to reciprocate, and a volume of a pump chamber is changed by deformation of the rolling diaphragm, thereby sucking and discharging a transport fluid. The ball screw includes a screw shaft placed coaxially with an axis and rotationally driven about the axis relative to the housing by the motor, and a nut portion screwed to the screw shaft so as to be reciprocatable in an axial direction and having an insertion hole formed over an entirety thereof in the axial direction at a position eccentric to the axis. A guide shaft configured to guide reciprocation in the axial direction of the nut portion is inserted through the insertion hole of the nut portion and fixed to the housing.

Abstract: An active cooling system and method for using the active cooling system are described. The active cooling system includes a cooling element having a first side and a second side. The first side of the cooling element is distal to a heat-generating structure and in communication with a fluid. The second side of the cooling element is proximal to the heat-generating structure. The cooling element is configured to direct the fluid using a vibrational motion from the first side of the cooling element to the second side such that the fluid moves in a direction that is incident on a surface of the heat-generating structure at a substantially perpendicular angle and then is deflected to move along the surface of the heat-generating structure to extract heat from the heat-generating structure.

Abstract: A pump arrangement for powering a pump in providing a controlled volume of water to a drip nozzle in a drip-feed humidifier. The pump arrangement includes: a pump having a solenoid; a processing unit; and a power supply electrically connected to the solenoid via a switch which is controlled by the processing unit. The power supply is structured to supply power to the solenoid via the switch. The processing unit is programmed to modulate the power provided to the solenoid via the switch such that the power is supplied to the solenoid according to a power profile for each actuation of the solenoid. The power profile includes: an initial portion which increases at a first overall rate, an intermediate portion which increases at a second overall rate different than the first overall rate, and a final portion which decreases at a third overall rate.

Abstract: A transmission assembly for a pump head of a six-cylinder opposed balanced diaphragm booster pump, a pump head of a diaphragm booster pump, and a diaphragm booster pump. The transmission assembly includes an eccentric assembly, a balance wheel assembly, a bearing and swing arms fixed to the balance wheel assembly. The eccentric assembly includes a motor shaft and eccentric wheels, wherein the movement of two eccentric wheels with a phase difference of 180° drives balance wheels of the balance wheel assembly to move oppositely. The eccentric assembly includes a first eccentric wheel, a second eccentric wheel and a third eccentric wheel in sequence, wherein the first eccentric wheel and the third eccentric wheel are similarly eccentric, and the second eccentric wheel is eccentric in an opposite manner to the first eccentric wheel and the third eccentric. The embodiments reduce noise caused by vibration of an existing diaphragm pump in operation.
