摘要: A length of shoulder belt webbing is extensible around the torso of a vehicle occupant to restrain forward movement of the vehicle occupant in the vehicle. A webbing guide guides the belt webbing around the body of the vehicle occupant. In response to vehicle deceleration at a rate above a predetermined rate, a pyrotechnic charge directs gas under pressure into an expansible chamber to move the webbing guide upward on the vehicle to tension belt webbing extending through the webbing guide. A gas outlet enables controlled flow of gas out of the expansible chamber to allow controlled downward movement of the webbing guide under tension in the belt webbing resulting from forward movement of the vehicle occupant subsequent to upward movement of the webbing guide. The webbing guide may be height adjustable by the vehicle occupant. The pyrotechnic charge may be connected with the webbing guide for movement with the webbing guide.

摘要: The drive device of lightweight construction for restraining systems in motor vehicles, in particular safety-belt tightening means, comprises a pyrotechnical gas generator, the gases of which act on a working chamber. The working chamber comprises an outwardly leading relief path which is sealed by a closure element of a material which at a temperature which lies above the operating temperature range of the gas generator but which at the most is equal to the self-igniting temperature of the gas generator softens at least to such an extent that the closure element on ignition of the gas generator frees the relief path but which at temperatures beneath the operating temperature range of the gas generator has a mechanical strength such that the relief path remains sealed by the closure element under the gas action.

摘要: A seatbelt pretensioning retractor assembly for use in a passenger vehicle is provided. The pretensioning assembly includes a tube in fluid communication with a gas generator and a driving element disposed therein that travels in a first direction in response to actuation of the gas generator. The driving element includes a polymer rod. A stopper is coupled to a proximal end portion of the polymer rod. A piston-safety valve member is disposed between the gas generator and the stopper and is configured to allow gas from the gas generator to pass therethrough when the gas is at or above a predetermined pressure.

摘要: The seatbelt pretensioner, which is designed for reducing slack in seatbelt webbing upon deployment in response to a triggering event, comprises an igniter that generates gas in response to the triggering event, an elongate body defining a chamber for receiving and the confining gas generated by the igniter, a piston movable within the elongate body by the gas generated, a slack-reducing assembly that responds to movement of the piston and is connected to at least a portion of seatbelt webbing, movement of the piston causes the slack-reducing assembly to move the seat belt webbing reducing slack in the seatbelt webbing; and a controlled pressure release that enables gas to escape from the elongate body after deployment, relieving gas pressure within the pretensioner. The controlled pressure release may comprise one or more of various pressure relieving features such as a porous intermediate disposed between the vent hole and the gas within the elongate body, a piston having a porous portion and/or a safety valve, and one or more plugs that seal vent holes in the elongate body that become unsealed by loosening the pretensioning assembly.

摘要: A pretensioner for introducing a webbing wound in a spool by explosive power obtained by exploding gunpowder when an impact is applied from the outside, the pretensioner includes: a hollow cylinder having one side surface for inserting a portion of a pinion connected to the spool; a micro gas generator (MGG) mounted in an upper end portion of the cylinder and for transferring explosive power into the cylinder while gunpowder provided at the inside explodes when an impact is applied from the outside; a rack mounted in a length direction at the inside of the cylinder and having one end portion disposed toward the MGG and having the other end portion disposed opposite to the pinion and having gear teeth provided in one side surface separated not to engage with the pinion before receiving explosive power from the MGG; and a roller for receiving explosive power from the MGG and rotatably mounted at the other side surface opposite to one side surface of the cylinder in which a portion of the pinion is inserted so that the gear teeth of the rack engage with the pinion when the rack falls toward a lower end portion of the cylinder and for guiding the separated rack to move toward the pinion.

摘要: To allow a seat belt retractor to be easily assembled and to be made compact while effectively operating a pretensioner and an energy absorbing mechanism. A plurality of balls 20 rotate a ring gear 25 by gas generated in the event of an emergency. Since internal teeth 25a are meshed with external teeth 26a, a pinion 26 is rotated by the rotation of the ring gear 25, and a spool retracts a seat belt. After pressing the ring gear 25, the balls 20 separate from the ring gear 25 and are stored in an arc-shaped passage 33. Since the seat belt is then withdrawn, the pinion 26 and the ring gear 25 rotate in a seat-belt withdrawing direction. In this case, some of the balls 20 in contact with the ring gear 25 are returned by the ring gear 25. Therefore, the ring gear 25 more smoothly rotates because the influence of the balls 20 is suppressed.

摘要: A safety device is disclosed which is configured to be actuated by the supply of gas. The safety device incorporates an outlet vent pipe which is sealed by a releasable clip. The releasable clip has a first elongate main gripping element and a second elongate moveable gripping element. The main gripping element has a retaining element to retain one end of the moveable gripping element. The safety device also includes an arrangement to retain the other end of the moveable gripping element in a predetermined position such that the clip may grip a fabric tube or the like between the main gripping element and the moveable gripping element. A mechanism is provided which responds to a supply signal to move the other end of the moveable gripping element to release the grip.
