    摘要: A rotary drive apparatus for a belt tensioner comprises a casing (10) in which a cylinder space (18) is formed, a generally circular disk-shaped rotor (14) mounted eccentrically therein having vanes (26) accommodated in radial slots (24) and a compressed gas source for pressurizing the chambers formed between the vanes, the rotor and the wall of the casing. The chambers are sealed off both with respect to each other and to the casing (10, 12) by a sealing system (30) on the rotor (14). The rotor (14) is mounted on said casing (10, 12) and is rotatable with respect to a shaft (16) and carries at least one pivotally mounted clutch pawl (32) which is engagingly positionable in a clutch toothing (34) on the circumference of said shaft (16).

    摘要: A belt pretensioner for vehicle safety belt systems is provided with a drive unit which comprises a pyrotechnic gas generator (12) and a piston and cylinder unit (16, 20). The piston (20) is arranged at a first end (161) of the cylinder (16) and is connected with a cable (22). By means of the gas pressure produced by the gas generator (12) the piston is accelerated towards the second, tapered end (162) of the cylinder (16). A sleeve-like insert (18) is arranged in the tapered cylinder end. The insert (18) has ribs and grooves alternating in the peripheral direction to offer sufficient room for plastic deformation.

    摘要: The invention relates to a belt pretensioner for vehicle safety belt systems comprising a pyrotechnic gas generator (12) and a piston and cylinder unit (16, 20) mounted in a housing block (14). The piston (20) of the piston and cylinder unit (16, 20) is arranged on a first end (161) of the cylinder (16) as well as being connected with a cable (22) and it is accelerated towards the second end (162), which has a constriction, of the cylinder (16) by the gas pressure produced by the gas generator (12). The piston and cylinder unit (16, 20) with the housing block (14) and the gas generator (12) mounted therein constitute a pivotally bearinged vehicle-sensitive inertial mass. In accordance with the invention a deformable member (46) is arranged on the piston (20) and on acceleration of the piston (20) is entrained towards the second end (162) of the cylinder (16) by the piston (20) and on impingement on the wall parts of the cylinder (16) constituting the constriction is plastically deformed.

In the rest condition the webbing is led freely between the oppositely disposed clamping elements of the gripping mechanism (16). The gripping mechanism (16) is connected via a pulling cable (38) to a pyrotechnic or mechanical belt tightener drive. The clamping elements are biased by springs against the webbing whereby a uniform contact on the latter is ensured.

    摘要: The tightening means for safety belt restraining systems is equipped with a pyrotechnical piston/cylinder tightening drive which is inserted via fitting parts engaging the piston on the one hand and the cylinder on the other hand into the force flow path of the safety belt system. The cylinder is formed in a cylinder block which is guided displaceably parallel to the axis of the cylinder on a bodywork-fixed or vehicle-seat-fixed guide member. The piston is formed at the one end of a shear-stressable piston rod and in the readiness position of the tightening means is inserted with the piston rod into the cylinder. At its other end the piston rod is supported at the guide part. The release is by means of a vehicle-sensitive mechanical trigger mechanism. Instead of a return blocking mechanism is return brake is provided which reduces the stress peaks in the belt system.

The working chamber comprises an outwardly leading relief path which is sealed by a closure element of a material which at a temperature which lies above the operating temperature range of the gas generator but which at the most is equal to the self-igniting temperature of the gas generator softens at least to such an extent that the closure element on ignition of the gas generator frees the relief path but which at temperatures beneath the operating temperature range of the gas generator has a mechanical strength such that the relief path remains sealed by the closure element under the gas action.
