The head has a flat surface for abutment on one of the insulating panels, a surface opposite the abutment surface having at least one drive wing, which extends to a distance greater than 10 mm from the opposite surface. The shank includes an elongate body extending from the head and substantially perpendicular to the abutment surface. The screw has a point arranged at an end of the body opposite the head, and at least one helical thread, which extends at least over part of at least one of the point and body, and is spaced from the head. The helical thread has a diameter that increases towards the head, a portion having a frustum-shaped envelope, and a pitch greater than 8 mm.

    摘要： A multi-component composite block includes a pair of opposed and parallel masonry face panels amalgamated with transverse non-masonry truss-webs or a truss-module including a plurality of joined non-masonry truss-webs. Truss-webs and/or truss-module are delivered within the mold assembly and aligned, retained, and held fast in place by mold apparatuses. Portions of truss-web and/or truss-module unite together with mold apparatuses to shape partitioned residual cavity spaces for the addition of concrete block forming material to form face panels. The truss-web members and/or truss-module have configured elements that integrate with the concrete mass of the face shells providing a permanent amalgamated bond. The assembled multi-component composite block is rigidly stable, durable, structural, lightweight, and thermally efficient.

    摘要： A thermal control insert and a thermal resistant hollow block. The thermal resistant hollow block includes a hollow block having a cavity and an elongate member positioned within the cavity that has a generally spiral shaped pathway which forms a generally closed pathway to receive a heated fluid when the elongate member is positioned within the cavity of the hollow block. The generally spiral shaped pathway passes the heated fluid in a forward direction through the generally closed pathway toward a central open area at an inner end of the generally closed pathway of the elongate member. As fluid accumulates in the central open area, the fluid loses kinetic energy and becomes stagnant to provide a relatively high thermal resistance to heat transfer.

    摘要： An insulated building block system for use in building walls and other structures. Each full block has sidewalls and endwalls with a generally open interior and flat upper and lower surfaces. Two vertical ridges are provided along the interior of one sidewall, with a protrusion extending above the upper surface. The ridges are located such that an upper block arranged in staggered relationship to a block in a lower course will interlock with the lower block. Recesses are provided in the interior endwall surfaces to retain a thermal insulation panel against the interior sidewall surface opposite the ridges. Half blocks are also provided to fill spaces in wall end surfaces between staggered full blocks. The half blocks have open interiors for placement of insulation panels and include ridges for interlocking with protrusions on adjacent full blocks. First rebar ends extending up through lower courses filled with cement grout may be fastened to second rebar extending down through upper courses and aligned with the first rebar by ways of a loop of material secured to the second rebar. The second rebar end with the loop is inserted through an opening in the upper courses until the loop surrounds the extended end of the first rebar, then the second rebar is rotated to wind the loop material around the second rebar, bringing the ends of the first and second rebar together.
