Abstract:
A tile for forming a modular deck with like-configured tiles, the tile having a web having a planar polygonal upper surface and a lower surface, a web strengthening structure on said lower surface, and a plurality of peripheral edges, where at least one of the edges includes a male connecting portion having a lateral tongue extending from the peripheral edge, and at least one of the edges includes a female connecting portion defining a lateral recess in the peripheral edge. In one embodiment, at least three of the peripheral edges include either of the male connecting portions or the female connecting portions.
Abstract:
A flooring system for use in a residential environment. The flooring system includes a subfloor adapted to support the mass of a user and modular surface covering elements for disposition in edge to edge covering arrangement across at least a portion of the subfloor. The modular surface covering elements include a pile fabric face with an arrangement of yarns projecting outwardly defining a pile layer for contact by a user. At least one layer of cushioning material is disposed in contacting relation at a position below the pile fabric face.
Abstract:
A mat with puzzle function is a four-sided pad. Each side has a toothed border with a succession of teeth. At least two cutting lines divide the mat into four blocks, in such a way that each block has an assembling edge with the complementary shape to connect with other blocks. The block of each mat can engage with another block of the same mat to form a puzzle mat set.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a laminar element in the form of a plate, which is adhered to the back of a tile, for dry joining and which provides insulation; said element is used for placement between a floor or deck and a covering material. The design of the element in a squared shape with pressure-sensitive adhesive “male sections” makes it possible to dry-install surfaces, both in new jobs and renovation. The aim is to obtain a finished product with more advantages for the final installation thereof in construction works, and which provides insulation of several types, including acoustic, thermal and insulation against moisture. The invention is applicable for all types of materials used as elements in finishing in the construction sector, both natural and artificial materials, and in rigid tiles or in mosaics.
Abstract:
A floor panel may include a bottom layer and an upper layer overlying the bottom layer. The bottom layer may have first and second edges, and the bottom layer may include at least one male protrusion on the first edge, and have at least one female protrusion receptacle on the second edge corresponding to a shape of the at least one male protrusion. The bottom layer may further include at least one male lip on the second edge, and have at least one female lip receptacle on the first edge corresponding to a shape of the at least one male lip. The upper panel may vertically overly the at least one female lip receptacle and the at least one female protrusion receptacle.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus providing a tile configured to form a modular floor covering including an array of substantially identical tiles. The tile includes a top surface, bottom side, front and rear sides and first and second lateral sides. The top surface includes an elongated shape and the bottom side includes a support grid. The front and rear sides are defined along a longitudinal length of the elongated shape. The front side includes at least one first hinge member and the rear side includes at least one complementary second hinge member configured to be engageable with the at least one first hinge member of an adjacently positioned tile. The first and second lateral sides define a width of the elongated shape with the first and second lateral sides including a respective tab and slot coupling portion each having a coupling length at least one-third the width of the elongated shape.
Abstract:
A platform panel or module is provided to construct a surface for a deck, floor, wall, ceiling, or roof. The panel or module comprises a decorative top layer integral with or joined to a structural, composite molded platform. Each platform panel or module has two complementary module-coupling sides that take advantage of the full width of each joist that supports the platform. Also, male and female connecting members are disposed along the module-coupling sides that enable one platform panel or module to be efficiently and positively interlocked with an adjacent panel or module. Each panel or module can be fastened on one side to a single joist while being secured on its opposite side to an adjoining panel or module. The panels or modules are also designed to cover over an entire joist substructure, including the beginning-of-sequence and end-of-sequence joists.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of thermochromatic compositions and devices and methods of making thermochromatic compositions and devices are provided. One embodiment comprises a thermochromatic composition comprising: a binding material; a thermochromatic material having a first color state a first temperature and a second color state at a second temperature; and a filler material for improving the thermal conductivity of the thermochromatic composition.
Abstract:
Interlocking panels include a frame configured as a perimeter of a panel, the frame including at least one engageable frame portion. The panel defines at least one side opening disposed adjacent the engageable frame portion(s) so that one panel may be attached to another panel by at least one connection means passing through the side opening(s) to capture the engageable frame portion(s).
Abstract:
A tile having a support layer and a wearing layer. The wearing layer and the support layer are polygonal. The edge regions of the support layer have projections and cutouts, the projections being intended to engage in a positively locking manner in the cutouts in the support layer of adjacent tiles. The tiles may also have an intermediate layer which is electrically conductive. After the tiles have been laid, neither cutouts nor projections are visible from above, since the tiles are mechanically secured by the support layer.
