The overlayment has a closed cell foam layer, an adhesive layer applied to a side of the closed cell foam layer, and a peelable layer removably positioned on the adhesive layer. The adhesive layer having a positive coefficient sheer adhesion to the finished flooring layer over a period exceeding three weeks from application of the finished flooring layer to the adhesive layer.

The thickness of the design layer may be greater than the dimensions of the regions or the regions may extending from the top surface of the layer to the bottom surface of the design layer. The heterogeneous layer may be composed of consolidated particles/chips which may contain a polyester binder system with a renewable component. Additionally, a method for making a heterogeneous layer having a target wt % recycle content or renewable content is also disclosed.

    摘要： Pattern match indicators are embedded in the pattern design in the selvage edge portion of adjacent flooring sheets. The pattern match indicators are spaced apart with the distance between the adjacent pattern match indicators equal to the repeat length of the pattern design. In one embodiment the pattern mark indicators may appear as small bars approximately ¼″ wide and approximately ½″ to approximately ⅝″ in length. Prior to cutting off the selvage edge portions, the adjacent flooring sheets are laid with the edge portion of one flooring sheet overlapping the other flooring sheet. The pattern match indictors are located with the pattern match indicators collinear with respect to the across-machine direction and with a gap of predetermined dimension between them. With the flooring sheets overlapped, the selvage edge portions are simultaneously cut parallel to the longitudinal edges of the flooring sheets and within the gap between the pattern match indicators,

    摘要： A laminated fabric floor product having an encapsulated fabric scrim within a vinyl resilient flooring structure. The laminated fabric floor product structure includes a PVC calendered base, a first hot melt film, a fabric, a second hot melt film, a calendered clear film, and a high performance coating. Traditional foamed and non-foamed substrates used in the flooring industry can be used in addition to the calendered base. All types of fabrics and scrims can be encapsulated. The fabrics can be both woven and non-woven types. Open scrims can be used with base layers that are printed or have a visual pattern so that design features and colors can be seen through the open areas of the scrim. The fabric layer can be printed with a design pattern and adhered to the base layer or substrate by the first hot melt adhesive film layer. The clear layer is adhered to the fabric layer by the second hot melt adhesive layer.

One or more performance enhancing layers, such as foam and solid layers, can be disposed between the underlayment and the adhesive layer to modify and/or enhance various properties of the preglued underlayment. Mechanical fasteners, such as staples, penetrate the preglued underlayment assembly and engage a structural support member to attach the preglued underlayment assembly thereto. A method of installing a surface covering over a structural support member utilizing the preglued underlayment assembly is also disclosed.
