    摘要: Water is first caused to flow through a first passage and rotate a first impeller. Rotation of the first impeller is linked to rotation of a second impeller, which is in fluid communication with a second, discrete passage. Vanes on the second impeller are constrained to move faster than vanes on the first impeller. Water is subsequently caused to flow through the second passage and to be more aggressively advanced by the second impeller.

    摘要: The invention relates to a degassing centrifugal apparatus such as a pump having energy recovery means and to a process for degassing a fluid. The apparatus has a rotatable hollow rotor connected to a fluid inlet at one end and a liquid outlet at the opposite end. A gas exhaust is connected to the center of the apparatus. The apparatus has at its inlet end means for bringing a fluid to rotate on the inner wall of said rotor. The apparatus comprises a turbine at its outlet end recovering excess dynamic energy from the rotating fluid. The apparatus is especially useful for centrifugal degassing of backwater in the production of paper or board machine.

    摘要: Inside a single casing the turbopump comprises a main shaft driven by a turbine, a secondary shaft coaxial with the main shaft, at least one low pressure boost impeller mounted on the secondary shaft. The LP fluid flow is brought parallel to the axis of the turbopump by a baffle and after being deflected through 180.degree. in a return channel it is returned parallel to the axis of the turbopump toward a high pressure impeller mounted on the main shaft inside the secondary shaft. The entire HP flow formed by the HP impeller is delivered axially to a boost turbine secured to the secondary shaft and to the LP boost impeller and disposed between the main shaft and the secondary shaft. Through orifices and an axial channel are formed in the main shaft to pass the flow of HP fluid leaving the boost turbine inside the main shaft and then to exhaust the HP fluid to a delivery channel secured to the casing through the radial arms situated at the inlet to the turbopump.

    摘要: A recirculation system is disclosed for driving reactor coolant water in an annular downcomer defined between a reactor vessel and a core shroud spaced radially inwardly therefrom. The system supplies feedwater to the vessel and to a turbopump disposed inside the downcomer. The turbopump in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention includes a stationary axle and a pump impeller rotatably joined thereto and having an inlet end for receiving the coolant water from the downcomer. An annular plenum surrounds the impeller for channeling feedwater to a plurality of turbine blades joined to the impeller for rotating the impeller for driving the coolant water. The impeller is lubricated solely by the feedwater upon rotation of the impeller about the axle.

    摘要: A system, which is preferably located on board a ship having at least one tank for oil or another liquid cargo and is provided for carrying out operations in connection with the unloading and the draining of cargo and/or wash liquid and the cleaning of the cargo tank as well as the handling and refining of polluted wash liquid, comprises a main pump, which is connected to the cargo tank through one main suction pipe and is adapted to substantially empty the cargo tank, means connecting the inlet of the main pump to a wash liquid source, spray means which is provided in the cargo tank for the cleaning thereof and is connected to a pressure fluid source, an air and gas suction off system, which is preferably connected to the main suction line through a gas separation tank, and a drainage pump. This drainage pump, which is preferably of the centrifugal type, is provided for wash-draining and/or after-draining and is driven by a liquid turbine. The inlet of the drainage pump is connected to themain suction pipe or the gas separation tank and is adapted to have air and gas sucked off from its pump wheel by means of the gas suction off system.
