    摘要: Known chimneys or chimney furnaces use flue gas flow units for heating buildings, said devices having displaceable or fixed obstacles for deflecting flue gas for generating flue gas turbulence. The invention relates to a device and method for transferring heat through a flue gas discharge pipe in which pivotal guide plates are inserted in the longitudinal direction of the pipe run, at which the flue gas flow is more or less deflected in a sinuous line as function of the pivot angle of the guide plates that can be adjusted during furnace operation. A fan can increase the flue gas flow. An optional furnace heat exchanger generates additional hot water as needed. The controller activates the actuators for the fan, guide plate pivot angle setting, and at least one circulating pump as a function of the prescribed controlled variables such as flue gas temperature, reservoir temperature, heat exchanger performance, or flue gas flow.

    摘要: The shut-off system according to the invention for large conduit cross-sections has a swing flap which can be swung to and fro between two end positions about a pivot axis by means of a drive device, wherein the drive device has a drive shaft which is connected to the swing flap via an elbow lever, and at least one lever arm rigidly connected to the drive shaft is provided which is in operative connection with at least one operating cylinder for rotation of the drive shaft. The drive device has a motion link which is fastened so as to be rotatable about a pivot bearing, wherein the operating cylinder is connected to the motion link to pivot the same, and a transmission element is provided between the lever arm and the motion link in order to transmit the pivoting motion of the motion link to the drive shaft.

    摘要: A mechanical damper control can be used to regulate the temperature of a smoker, barbecue grill, or generally any stove chamber. The mechanical damper control includes a housing that can be coupled to an inlet or outlet of a stove chamber, either directly or using an adapter. A temperature responsive expandable member and a damper are coupled to each other, and to the housing. A damper adjustment can be manipulated to just close the damper at a point when the stove has reached a desired temperature. Further changes in the temperature of the stove chamber cause the expandable member to expand or contract, resulting in a corresponding opening or closing of the damper to maintain the stove chamber at a substantially constant temperature.

A drawing amount of the flue gas by the blower to the carbon-dioxide collecting device is increased until an flow rate of the flue gas from the stack becomes zero in the gas flow sensor, and when the discharged amount of flue gas from the stack becomes zero, drawing in any more than that amount is stopped, and the carbon dioxide in the flue gas is collected while the flue gas is drawn in by a substantially constant amount.

At least one thermoelectric module is sandwiched between a hot side fin unit with fins extending into the flow of exhaust gases and a cold side fin unit with fins cooled by forced room air. A damper controls exhaust gas flow through a heat chamber, directing the exhaust gas through a generating side and a bypass side depending on a temperature indication. This prevents heat damage to the thermoelectric module. At least one fan is provided to force room air through cooling fins of the cold side fin unit An electric circuit is described for providing power for the fan and providing additional electric power for purposes such as charging a battery.

    摘要: A vent damper is provided for limiting the flow of ambient air through the central core of a hot water heater having a combustion chamber, the central core forming an exhaust port leading to an exhaust duct for evacuation of exhaust gases from the combustion chamber. The vent damper includes an annular base having an upwardly facing opening forming a passageway therethrough for passage of the exhaust gases from the exhaust port to the exhaust duct. A poppet is pivotally supported above the annular base means to pivot between a closed position closing the passageway and a open position opening the passageway. The poppet is configured such that the exhaust gases generated in the combustion chamber and passing out of the exhaust port cause the poppet to pivot into the open position such that the gases may flow through the passageway. The weight of the poppet is distributed about a pivot such that in the absence of the gases, it falls under the influence of gravity into the closed position to limit the flow of ambient air through the central core. A down draft hood is disposed between the poppet and the exhaust duct to provide down draft protection. The down draft hood includes side ports to allow the gases to flow from the exhaust port to the exhaust duct when the passageway is open. The down draft hood permits operational lifting of the closure element even in a downdraft situation. A flue hood covers the down draft hood.

    摘要: A flap valve, particularly used for a conductor of large cross section, includes a valve housing and a flap member mounted in the housing for pivoting movement about a first axis through an angle of approximately 90.degree. between two extreme positions. A drive shaft is mounted in the housing for rotation about a second axis, and a tension lever is fixed to the drive shaft and rotatable therewith about the second axis. A joint rod is pivoted at a first end thereof to the tension lever and at a second end thereof to the flap member at a position substantially centrally thereof. Rotation of the drive shaft and the tension lever about the second axis moves the joint rod and thereby pivots the flap member about the first axis from one extreme position to the other.
