    摘要: A drying tunnel applicable to products of fruits and vegetables for drying, using ambient temperature dry air. The tunnel has an outer casing fitted with two independent stories which has openings at the ends of the upper floor, which crossed inside in an upward direction by a conveyor belt which is in turn crossed in a counterflow direction by a particular flow of drying air at ambient temperature. Humidity of the products is absorbed by traveling along the conveyor belt which passes through the upper flow. The upper floor is blown by fans treated by air passing through a refrigeration evaporator, condenser, and compressor located on the upper floor. Air curtains are at the tunnel openings to minimize escaping air. Air filters are included to eliminate suspended particles from the product surface.

    摘要: An end wall of a multi-conveyor wood veneer dryer includes a plurality of sight glasses that are vertically aligned with each other. Each sight glass is elevated just above a respective roller conveyor, with the conveyors being located in the dryer. A laser generator portion of a laser apparatus is positioned adjacent each sight glass outside the dryer, such that a laser beam is directed through each sight glass. Each laser apparatus includes a light detector for detecting reflected laser light. The preferred laser apparatus generates a distance signal representative of the distance between the generator and an object in the path of the laser beam, based on the period from when the beam was generated to when the reflected beam was received. Accordingly, when the veneer panels in a conveyor are moving properly through the dryer, the laser beam that is associated with the conveyor propagates to the wall of the dryer that is opposite the sight glasses, and the beam is reflected back to the receiver, with the apparatus indicating a distance equal to the length of the dryer. On the other hand, when the panels in a conveyor become jammed and consequently stacked up, the beam is reflected by one or more jammed panels, with the output of the laser apparatus indicating the distance from the laser generator to the jam.

    摘要: The method and apparatus operate to complete the following stages. At the first stage the coating is held at room temperature in the time interval from 20 s to 1 hour, depending on the type of polymer coating. At the second stage the coating is held at an elevated temperature under excessive pressure, sufficient for suppressing propagation of microcracks in such time interval so that at reaching the predetermined protective properties the thermodestruction of the polymer coating does not occur. At the third stage performed is the cooling of the coating to room temperature. According to the invention, the excessive pressure is built up at the first stage and maintained at the cooling stage. The invention may find application in manufacture of integrated circuits, as well as for the formation of thin polymer insulation coatings.

    摘要: An improved paint bake oven (10) of a modular construction is disclosed as including a convection heating module (12), exhaust modules (64), and a radiant drying module (80). The heating module (12) includes outer and inner housings (14) and (16) as well as an upper central supply plenum (20) and a central upper return plenum (28) that cooperate to provide efficient gas flow to painted products being baked upon passage through the heating module. Each exhaust module (64) is connected to an associated heating module so as to receive and exhaust gas therefrom to the environment. The radiant drying module (80) is located upstream from the heating module (12) and includes an outer insulated housing (84), an inner housing (86) having side passages (92) located on opposite sides of a product passage of the drying module (80), and a heater (96) that supplied heated gas to the side passages (92) to provide radiant heating that initially dries the painted products.

    摘要: The invention relates to a walking beam furnace wherein the walking beams can be lowered beyond their operative stroke to a maintenance position. The actuating device for the walking beams comprises a hydraulic, pneumatic or electric assembly (10) and a wheel (16) rotatably mounted around a stationary axis and a preferably flexible drive-transmitting member (20) which is formed, for example, by a cable, a sprocket chain or the like, and is pivotably connected to said wheel (16). The flexible drive-transmitting member can rest on the peripheral surface of the wheel (16) both during the operative stroke of the walking beams (7) and during their lowering stroke to the maintenance position. The ramps, whereon the lifting rollers (6) for the walking beams (7) run, comprise a less-inclined upper stretch (3) and a successive more-inclined stretch (4). However, the drive-transmitting member can rest, during the operative stroke, on a support member which is co-axial with the wheel and has a smaller diameter than the wheel. In the latter case, the ramps whereon the lifting rollers (6) move may have a uniform slope.
