    摘要: An encoder includes: a reading device that reads respective electric signals from two incremental patterns respectively having graduation array pitches different from each other; a control device that calculates a measurement value, based on the electric signals; and an output device that outputs the measurement value. The control device includes: an absolute position synthesis unit that synthesizes two electric signals to generate a synthesized absolute position; a detection unit that detects two relative positions from the two electric signals; a position calculation unit that performs an arithmetic operation between the relative positions and the synthesized absolute position to calculate a calculated absolute position; an absolute position comparison unit that compares the calculated absolute position with the synthesized absolute position; and a relative position comparison unit that compares the two relative positions with each other. The output device outputs error information, based on a comparison result output from the control device.

    摘要: A magnetic encoder apparatus is presented that includes a plurality of magnetic sensor elements (e.g. Hall sensors) for reading an associated magnetic scale that produces a periodically repeating magnetic pattern. The plurality of magnetic sensor elements produce a plurality of sensor signals and an analyzer is provided for analyzing the plurality of sensor signals to provide a measure of the position of the magnetic sensor elements relative to the associated magnetic scale. The analyzer is arranged to use the plurality of sensor signals to assess the period of the periodically repeating magnetic pattern sensed by the plurality of magnetic sensor elements. In this manner, the requirement to carefully match the period of the sensor elements with the periodically repeating magnetic pattern of the associated magnetic scale is avoided.

    摘要: In a separate linear encoder, a scale is further provided with an ABS track that is arranged in parallel with an INC track and a detection head includes an ABS detection portion that reads the ABS track. The separate linear encoder includes a calculation portion that obtains a yaw angle of the detection head with respect to a scale based on a gap between an INC detection portion and an ABS detection portion and a difference amount between a position value of the INC track, which is detected by the INC detection portion, and a position of the ABS track, which is detected by the ABS detection portion. The calculation portion also obtains a signal strength based on two-phase sine wave signals that are output from the INC detection portion. The separate linear encoder further includes a display device that displays a plurality of yaw angles and the signal strengths corresponding to the respective yaw angles.
