A first network device may detect a presence of a user using a camera and/or infrared sensors. The first network device sends, in response to detecting the presence of the user, a particular signal via the first network interface. The second network device receives data corresponding to the particular signal and plays back an audio output corresponding to the particular signal.

摘要: A remote commander (RC) for a TV or other entertainment system component has a microphone. A device can query the RC for its serial number, access the Internet with the serial number to look up characteristics of the microphone, and then knowing the characteristics, use the RC microphone to detect sound such as speaker test chirps to calibrate an audio system in a convenient and user-friendly manner while achieving the accuracy of calibration that can only be obtained by using a calibrated microphone system.

摘要: Systems and methods for calibrating a playback device include (i) outputting first audio content; (ii) capturing audio data representing reflections of the first audio content within a room in which the playback device is located; (iii) based on the captured audio data, determining an acoustic response of the room; (iv) connecting to a database comprising a plurality of sets of stored audio calibration settings, each set associated with a respective stored acoustic room response of a plurality of stored acoustic room responses; (v) querying the database for a stored acoustic room response that corresponds to the determined acoustic response of the room in which the playback device is located; and (vi) applying to the playback device a particular set of stored audio calibration settings associated with the stored acoustic room response that corresponds to the determined acoustic response of the room in which the playback device is located.

Based on receiving the indication that the first playback device is calibrated, the example implementation updates a calibration state variable to indicate that the first playback device is calibrated, wherein the calibration state variable is stored in the data storage. The example implementation sends, via the network interface, an indication of the updated calibration state variable to a second device.

摘要: Example techniques described herein relate to calibration of a playback device. Using example techniques, a playback device may self-calibrate by measuring a self-response and using a transfer function to map the self-response to an estimate of a room response. The playback device may determine calibration settings to at least partially offset acoustic characteristics of an environment surrounding the playback device as represented in the estimated room response. The transfer function may be derived from a principal component analysis of a dataset including multiple room responses, perhaps as measured during a multi-point calibration process of the playback device in various environments and conditions.

摘要: Producing multiple independent fields from many phased acoustic transducers represents a difficult computational problem. By first dividing up each field to its own group of transducers and then treating each group as an element with adjustable phase, one can minimize the field-to-field interference through a power iteration solution. These solutions can be further refined by including tracking information from users in the space and how they shadow or reflect the acoustic fields.
