Abstract:
A screen printing method and apparatus for applying paste into pattern apertures of a mask plate by sliding a filling member provided at a lower end of a squeegee head. The filling member forms an acute angle with an upper surface of the mask plate. Any extra paste on the mask plate is wiped by sliding a wiper provided at a lower end of the squeegee head. The wiper forms an obtuse angle with the upper surface of the mask plate.
Abstract:
A masking for an engine block to be thermally sprayed with a coating includes a head deck mask portion adapted to engage a head deck of an engine block to prevent over-spray of a thermally sprayed coating on the head deck. The masking also includes a crankcase mask portion adapted to be disposed in a crankcase chamber of the engine block and engage a lower end of a cylinder bore cavity of the engine block to prevent over-spay of the thermally sprayed coating into the crankcase chamber.
Abstract:
A shadow mask for uniformly forming an organic luminescent layer of an organic electroluminescent device is disclosed. The shadow mask includes a plurality of striped slots aligned in one direction, the striped slots having a plurality of inclined surfaces formed on each side thereof. Due to a step difference, the inclined surfaces prevent shadows from occurring, thereby uniformly forming the organic luminescent layer.
Abstract:
The nullBnull post of an automobile between its front and rear doors is masked before the vehicle is painted by (1) providing a resiliently conformable strip of masking material having a width greater than the maximum distance between the trailing edge of the front door adjacent the nullBnull post and the leading edge of the rear door adjacent the nullBnull post and a length at least equal to the length of those edges along the nullBnull post to be masked, which strip has pressure sensitive adhesive on a surface adjacent a longitudinal edge of the strip; (2) opening the front door; (3) applying the strip to the inner surface of the leading edge of the rear door so that the pressure sensitive adhesive securely adheres the strip to conform with the profile of the leading edge and the strip extends across the nullBnull post to an extent sufficient to overlap with the trailing edge of the front door when said front door is closed; and (4) closing the front door to abut the overlap and thereby mask the nullBnull post.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for improved stencil/screen print quality is disclosed. The stencil or screen assists in application of a printable material onto a substrate, such as an adhesive to a semiconductor die of a semiconductor wafer during a lead-on-chip (LOC) packaging process. In one embodiment, the stencil includes a coating applied to at least one surface of a pattern of the stencil or screen to retard running of the printable material onto the surface. In another embodiment, the stencil or screen includes a second coating applied to at least one other surface of the pattern to promote spreading of the printable material onto the substrate.
Abstract:
A shield for covering a robot arm such as in a paint spray booth is made of a porous foam material having high flow permeability. The shield includes a pair of integral straps which are connected to each other when the shield is mounted around the robot arm solely by a single set of fasteners. One end of the shield includes a cutout or dipped in portion for disbursing paint.
Abstract:
A system for processing a disk includes an end-effector having a plurality of fingers. The end-effector is mounted to a rotary actuator. The rotary actuator is mounted to a linear stage. The linear stage is positioned adjacent to an air track and a tank. The rotary actuator and the linear stage place the fingers into the inner diameter of a disk on the air track. The fingers grip the inner diameter of the disk. The rotary actuator and the liner stage then place the fingers holding the disk into the tank. The tank is filled with a processing liquid such as a lubrication solution to lubricate the disk.
Abstract:
To provide a method capable of producing a separator integrated with a gas flow channel of fuel cells efficiently at low costs without deteriorating processing accuracy and the like. A plane-facing electrode nozzle 30 is placed oppositely to the face to be processed, which is partially covered with a mask M, of base material B of a separator. Under the condition of feeding electricity to the electrode nozzle 30 and the base material B of a separator, an electrolytic solution is injected and fed from the side of the electrode nozzle 30 to the face to be processed of the base material B from a direction that is almost perpendicular to the face. Thereby, the unmasked portion undergoes electrolytic etching with the electrolytic solution lying between the face to be processed and the electrode nozzle 30 to form recessed portions for making a gas flow channel.
