摘要： Wood chips having an acceptable thickness pass between the rollers of a roller screen for collection and over-thick chips discharge from one end of the roller screen for recycling. The rollers have chip agitating protuberances, preferably of pyramidal shape or in the form of spiral ridges. A second roller screen with pyramidal protuberances on its rollers and with its rollers closer together is used to screen out fines, preferably after the fines and acceptable chips pass through the first roller screen. Some of the fines pass through the second roller screen by occupying the valleys between the pyramidal protuberances.

摘要： In a process for the production of a uniform flow of particles to be discharged over the width of a hopper, such as cellulose or mineral fibers or glue-coated chips or mixtures for the production of boards consisting of these materials, a feeding device is arranged above the hopper transversely to the longitudinal axis of the hopper for discharging particles into the hopper. A stationary feed arranged to the side of the hopper supplies particles to the feeding device. The feeding device includes a horizontal belt conveyor which carries the particles from the stationary feed to the hopper. The entire feeding device moves back and forth during this procedure whereby the particles are deposited into the hopper from one side thereof to the other. This prevents or substantially eliminates the particles from lumping or sticking together in the hopper which might otherwise occur if the particles were simply directly supplied to the hopper from a stationary source.

摘要： The present invention provides an improved apparatus and method for forming a fibrous web. In accordance with the invention, a distributor housing delimits a fiberizing zone, and a delivery mechanism supplies a fiberizable material into the fiberizing zone. A moveable striking mechanism located in the fiberizing zone contacts the fiberizable material to initially separate the material into individual fibers. A discharging mechanism exits the fibers from the fiberizing zone into a web forming zone and toward a foraminous web forming layer. A gas delivering mechanism forces a stream of gas into the fiberizing zone to entrain the fibers therein and to eject a moving stream of the gas and fibers through the discharging mechanism into the web forming zone. The gas-fiber stream moves at a velocity sufficient to draw an induced supplementary gas flow past the discharging mechanism and toward the foraminous forming layer. A steering mechanism located in the web forming zone selectively guides the induced supplemental gas flow to direct the fibers toward selected areas of the foraminous forming layer.

摘要： Method and apparatus for forming a reconsolidated wood product from natural wood which has been rended to form flexible open lattice work webs (14) of naturally interconnected wood strands. The webs (14) are laid one over the other in overlapping fashion, treated with a bonding agent, and compressed in a compression apparatus (100) having two members (102, 104) which are cyclically moved towards each other, to effect compression of the webs, and then moved away from each other to permit further webs to be positioned for compression in the compression device. Movement of the webs through the apparatus is effected by engaging the bonded webs, after compression and when the members (102, 104) are moved away from each other, so as to draw following laid in webs (14) into the space between the members (102, 104).
