摘要： A rigid building component such as a door, table top or the like, is formed of coarse wooden particles mixed with adhesive, and a solid wooden edge frame, positioned between a pair of damp, substantially parallel, cellulosic fiber webs. A heated press is employed to compact the combination, particularly between the edge frame and the cellulosic fiber webs where the coarse wooden particles are greatly compressed to provide a durable edge. Under the heat and pressure applied in the press the particles are consolidated into a solid structure, while the damp cellulosic fiber webs are converted to tough exterior skins bonded to the coarse wooden particles. The sides of the rigid building component are suitably deeply embossed to provide a decorative paneled appearance.

摘要： A duel-belt press in which two mating endless steel belts are supported and pressed against each other through a treating zone while holding a layer of a product captive. The layer of product is compressed as it moves into the nip formed by two diametrically opposed compression rolls which act through the belts to compress the product layer. Belt support structures are provided through the zone extending from upstream to downstream of the compression rollers relative to the movement of the belts and the layer of the product.

摘要： A method of moulding articles from a paste like material is disclosed in which a moulding tunnel having a composite piston movable therein is closed at one end by means of a separable mould insert. The moulding material is supplied into the tunnel between the composite piston and the mould insert by a suitable hopper and a plurality of transversely operable pistons are movable into the tunnel from the sides and bottom thereof. Upon a two-stage movement of the composite piston and the transversely movable pistons the mouldable material is forced into the mould insert to form an article. The mould insert and the article are then ejected from the mould tunnel and conveyed through a curing tunnel in contiguous relationship to a plurality of other mould inserts having moulded articles therein. At the end of the curing tunnel, the mould inserts are separated and the moulded article ejected. The mould inserts are then conveyed back to the tunnel for a new moulding operation.

摘要： The invention is concerned with wall panels and other construction units comprising a mixture of solid particles and liquid resinous bonding agent, said mixture being distributed on a base in such a manner that the volume of bonding agent exceeds the volume of the spaces between said solid particles. The solid particles are now allowed to settle and the excess bonding agent is allowed to rise to the top of said solid particles so as to form an outer layer, into which one side of an absorbent layer is applied to absorb the bonding agent, which finally is cured. In this manner there will be obtained a strong composite construction unit having a smooth surface.
