摘要: A surface buoy comprising a resident electrical power supply allows the surface buoy to be an integrated part of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) deployed power buoy system which makes transport and installation more efficient than alternatives. The ROV deployed power system can be operational via built in radio link and kept operational during service, transport, testing, installation, and operation.

摘要: A method and a device are described for survey of an ocean floor, and also cables and the like on the ocean floor in ocean areas with strong currents, as a submersible survey platform (10) is lowered from a surface vessel with the help of a winch system (12) on the vessel to a desired distance in relation to the ocean floor. The desired fixed distance from the ocean floor is controlled in real time in relation to the topography of the ocean floor at the same time as the vessel moves forward to drive the platform (10) along a desired trajectory with the help of one or more sensors that register the distance to and possibly direction towards the ocean floor and which are connected to the winch (12) via a control system (14). At the same time, sideways movements of the platform (10) caused by currents are compensated for with the help of one or more sensors that are connected to a number of thrusters (16) on the platform (10) via said control system (12).

摘要: A system and method for deploying and/or retrieving a cable underwater. In an embodiment, a system comprises a cage, comprising a guidance system adapted to be remotely operable subsea by a vessel; a communications link operatively linking the guidance system and the vessel; and a non-palletized reel rotatably and removably mounted within the cage, the reel adapted to receive an unspoolable length of cable, the cable comprising two fee ends. In an exemplary method, the reel, onto which cable is spooled is removably and rotatably housed in a cage adapted for remote control use underwater and the cage lowered by a vessel to a position proximate a seafloor. The cage is maneuvered along a predefined flight pattern in substantially a single plane with respect to the seafloor while selectively releasing the cable from the reel. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope of meaning of the claims.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for hull attachment for submersible vehicles are disclosed. In one embodiment, a submersible apparatus includes a hull having an elongated channel, a sliding member moveably disposed in the channel, and a mounting assembly attached to the sliding member. The mounting assembly includes an engagement member selectively engageable between a first position wherein the mounting assembly is moveable along the channel, and a second position wherein the mounting assembly is secured in a fixed position along the channel. The apparatus advantageously permits a wide variety of equipment or devices (e.g. tow point assemblies, wing assemblies, tail assemblies, propulsion units, illumination devices, imaging devices, instrumentation, sensors, etc.) to be adjustably attached to the hull, and provides improved adjustability, maintainability, integrity, reliability, and overall improved mission performance.
