Abstract: A method for laying a submarine cable system in which the construction of the submarine cable system is highly adaptable is provided. Abstract: A cutting device to sever a cable or the like. The cutting device can be used to sever the cable or the like in relatively inaccessible locations, such as in the ocean. The cutting device can include one or more springs that can be loaded to facilitate the deployment of a cutting tool to sever the cable or the like. The cutting device can include a lever than can be rotated between a locked configuration impeding deployment of the cutting tool and an unlocked configuration permitting deployment of the cutting tool. A linkage can retain the lever in the locked configuration. The linkage can be compromised, permitting the movement of the lever into the unlocked configuration.

Abstract: In order to achieve the objects described above, the present invention provides an adapter tool for coupling a ben stiffener with interface for bell mouths of models with connection type BSN900E in a diverless bell mouth (BSDL), consisting of a adapter split ring (1), guide pin holes (C), fastener eyes (D), and through holes (E). The adapter tool is capable of keeping interchangeability and flexibility between projects or project phases, even if different bellmouth models are used. The interconnection method between the helmet (9) and the adapter split ring (1) can be done by direct attachment by bolt, or by attachment by ring/rod support. Both interconnections can be made on board a flexible line launching vessel, in the case of reusing lines from other projects, or at the factory, in the case of sharing new flexible lines.

Abstract: An elongate connector for subsea connection of cables and the like to wind turbine generators has a plurality of locking elements arranged on ramp surfaces and held in a plurality of cages on the connector. The cages are moveable to move the locking elements along the ramp surfaces between an engaged position and a disengaged position and the plurality of cages are moveable independently of each other. A release collar is provided, which can move all the cages simultaneously to the disengaged position, in order to allow removal of the connector.

Abstract: A method for the tension proof closing of the end of an energy cable in which an energy cable is used whose center axis containing the electrical transmission elements is surrounded by a tension proof reinforcement of metal wires. Initially, the reinforcement at the end of the energy cable is removed over a predetermined length. Subsequently, a pipe piece of metal, which tightly surrounds the end of the remaining reinforcement, is placed onto the end of the remaining reinforcement. Finally, a cup shaped tubular elongated sleeve of metal is pushed onto the end of the energy cable and is connected in a tension proof manner to the pipe piece which has, at its free end facing away from the pipe piece, a device suitable for mounting a tension element. In addition, a device manufactured by the method is proposed.

Abstract: A method of dry-mating a first connector part and a second connector part wherein the first and second connector parts are brought into a first mated state, wherein a seal is engaged between the first and second connector parts.
